Avid reader here, tend to have 2 or 3 books on the go all the time.
Same as previous posters, anything from Tom Sharp to Tim Pat Coogan from the Devine comedy to the new testament.
For Fantasy my go to would probably be RA Salvatore or Feist.

Riotous Assembly was the funniest book I've ever read! I laughed out loud the whole way through!! Tom Sharpe's books are brilliant! Love the Kay Scarpetta books too. Autobiographies always interest me. I'll even read the back of the cornflakes box while having brekkie!!! |

Similar to Anya. Very varied. Classics, crime, horror, sci-fi.
Stephen King is my favourite author"

"My preferred genre is historical fiction; reading Shantaram at present.
My trip into fantasy went as far as Harry Potter. Love it though but wouldn't venture any further. "
I’ve Shantaram in the reading pile at the minute.
It’s a beast of a book and if I start I’d want to finish
is it worth the effort? |

It is a beast of a book alright, I found it gripping reading. An insight into a totally different rarely represented world, and a very rare individual.

Well... Then I have to say 'Scandinavian' authors because there are lots of them, not only Swedish |

Dunboyne |
Love almost everything Stephen King but haven't read the Dark Tower stuff.
The Dark Half is one of my favourites and one of his most vicious, I think.
Looking forward to new series of The Stand
Dean Koontz is another I usually like and sometimes Ian Rankin.
Spike Milligan for the laughs

Horror - King or Herbert.
Bit of Jack Reacher for light relief.
Dan Brown, because.... Why not.
Currently reading 1984, which I've always avoided. But I found a copy in the attic, so I'm getting acquainted with Winston Smith.
My all time favourite is Salem's Lot. Lost count how often I've read it. |

Same here. I like learning through other people's experiences. Saves me making similar mistakes lol.

The books are in sequence so start with homeland then exile then sojourn. After that you should be hooked and spend waaaay to much time reading rather than working

The Emperor series is very good, if you like that you should try Steven Pressfields gates of fire and tides of war. |
