This is the best United team since Fergie left. They will finish third. Van dijk massive loss for liverpool and some of the other players dont look motivated.

Neither full back is good positionally defensively but play on the front foot. Hence both are made to look very very average and criticised widely when they play for their respective countries as they are protected at club level by the system they play in.
VVD is a loss but is still over hyped, he was regularly found out by the St Johnstones of this world when he played at celtic. He doesn't like the ball over the top or the physical side of the game. Where teams have failed before, including Pep, who has been too arrogant to change his style despite repeated beatings by Liverpool, is that there seems to be this nonsense of having to play out from the back. This effectively plays right into Liverpools hands as they have perfected the high press like no other.
How to beat it? Well villa showed it when they destroyed Liverpool earlier this season, a tactic right out of Jack Charltons school of ball back to front ASAP and put the defence on the back foot with pace in behind. Charlton never got enough credit and his tactics were labelled ugly. But under him Ireland moved the ball back to front as quick as possible and the 'put them under pressure' to win the next ball was effectively a high press except the opposition defence were effectively already on the back foot.
Also things aren't happening for them up front and that's when you see the true quality in a player. Mane is still fighting for everything and salah is doing what he does when it gets tough, he's hiding. The biggest fraud in modern football. Came on agaisnt Palace a few weeks ago and banged in the 6th and 7th goals to pad out his stats. Bruno Fernandes is a sensational footballer, if he weren't at United neither would Ole right now.
Chelsea have been shocking, they've no defence and wasted millions on Havertz and Werner when they already had Ziyech, Hudson, Pulisic etc etc.
Spurs are anti football, but Son and Kane are lethal on the break!

Mo just isn't and never was as good as everyone thought he was. He hid behind his statistics which were padded out with penalties and scoring 4 against the likes of Bournemouth. His work rate has always been poor and its one of the reasons TAA has always been the one highlighted at fault moreso than Robertson for being out of position because Mane works his socks off and covers back.
Bruno Fernandes I will also have to disagree with your assessment. Again stats padded out with penalties and merely made to look good because those around him have been so bad. A bit like sanchez at arsenal back in the day when he put on a show to bluff many of the fans. Just another example of someone the media getting a hold of and hyping up. It all comes out in time. |

Trent is not the same when Henderson does not play in midfield. The covering he does for the 2 full backs is vital. Big virg is a HUGE loss. Not just at the back but on set pieces at the other end too. Surly they have to make a move for a centre half in this window. Get one in and jota back and they will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season |
