Most hotels only open for essential workers at the moment. If you here for a while with work be may cheaper to rent a air bnb for a few weeks.
As for the Mrs coming over every other weekend. She would need to self isolate each time for 14 days |

Love Kilkenny, i used to visit there every 2 years when i played football. We play a certian football team , every year as they would visit us in Wales. I had some great times in Kilkenny and made some good friends. |

The Avalon house hotel is recently done up in castlecomer and looks really nice , abbeyleix and durrow are about a 15/20 minute drive from castlecomer both with hotels , kilkenny city is 25 minutes from castlecomer , but your gonna have to ring to see if any open , also ur wife is gonna have to get tested before flying and isolate from you for 14 days each time she arrives , only you know if it worth the hassle she comming over to visit you .

And yes as been said . We are in lockdown so 14days isolation on arrival .
Only other option is to isolate for a min of 5 days and get a gov approved test here . And then upon proof of a negative test result you can leave isolation . As it says on the gov.ie site .
