I carried on living my normal life as much as possible, if we thought about every possible illness or accident that could happen to you any time you leave the house we would never do anything at all. We have to get on with life too |

"We get it. You're pissed off.
Live the life you can right now and focus less on what you can't do. It's not healthy.
This will pass. We have to adapt. "

Restrictions are temporary but yes it looks like Covid-19 is going to be endemic and that will have some consequences. All you can do is to accept that. Luckily we have now the vaccines that will allow us to manage the covid fecker in the future. |

Jaysos sillywrapper you've absolutely no stamina. 10 lousy month of pandemic and you're limping and dragging along like an dog with hip dysplasia. Now with the vaccine coming along there's end in sight but I'm not sure if you're gonna make it if you keep on whinging what you can't do rather than doing what you can do...
Oh yeah if you think you have it bad, just think what it must feel like for people in Syria or Yemen after years of war. |

You are not living like a hermit. Dont be so dramatic
Also, does that tiny percentage of society (your words, not mine) not matter?
Can you not get your head around the fact that what you're being asked to do, those relatively small sacrifices you're being asked to make, are not just about saving the lives of those affected by covid but saving lives in general by preventing our hospitals becoming overwhelmed?
Obviously you don't because it's the same bloody cry all the time. |

Blahhhh blahhh blahhh....change the record....
I've a medal and a bun here for ya...well done you've sacrificed so so much...while living under a dictatorship in a third world country environment...
You are being persecuted, your human rights are being violated simply because of a small common cold...
Yes adapt the swedish or brazillian model...
And to make matters worse...you are the only one its affecting...
I'm away now for a walk and some fresh air...
As before happy new year...be kind be humble...
Sometimes when I close my eyes....I cant see |

How would you know they’re back to normal? I bet you haven’t even properly checked it out. Post links here that are totally up to date here showing they are for each place you mentioned.
Oh and by the way. Even if they were totally back to normal, which is not likely, you’ve mentioned only parts of 3 countries. That’s very selective of you to use a tiny number of places to bash ireland and ignore all other places that are doing much worse. If I were you I’d avoid a job which requires analytical thinking |

What does it matter what other countries were like last night? You were the one who said on another thread that family members couldn't understand why you went to bed early every New Year's Eve. It was just another night.

" I said if I was out in a city pubbing and clubbing, I'd be out but if I was at home I'd be in bed by 12. our pubs and clubs are shut. |

"I never stopped living a normal life. I easily adapt to changes and I've no problem to sacrify some privileges for the common good, especially when it's temporary. id be very sceptical on the temporary.
Restrictions are temporary but yes it looks like Covid-19 is going to be endemic and that will have some consequences. All you can do is to accept that. Luckily we have now the vaccines that will allow us to manage the covid fecker in the future.covid will be like the normal flu. you'll more then likely have to be vaccinated every year but let's hope restrictions move sooner rather than later. we could all do of any one thing in the morning.
Oh yeah if you think you have it bad, just think what it must feel like for people in Syria or Yemen after years of war. that's a stupid eg. I have never lived there. People live there have lived through war all their lives, they no no different. were living like hermits over a virus that harms a tiny % of society when in reality we get one shot at life and could die any one way in the morning. vaccine is here but we still don't know will it be effective. we also don't know will it be dished out this year. I think it was an English scientist said the other day, hoping the vaccine is effective, they hope to be good to resume life in June. compare that to what u have here.
Obviously you don't because it's the same bloody cry all the time. you are living like a hermit when u can't live life fully. Read my comment above about hospitals.
I'm done. There's absolutely no point trying to reason with you. "
your wasting your time, your points wont even register with the OP.
It’s a fundamental aspect of the human condition that people see evidence that disagrees with their firmly-held beliefs as weaker. Ultimately, they ask themselves different questions when evaluating that evidence, depending on whether they want to believe what it suggests or not.
For desired conclusions, the question is ‘Can I believe this?’, but for unpalatable conclusions we ask, ‘Must I believe this?’” People come to some information seeking permission to believe, and to other information looking for escape routes.

You’re simply going to choose to believe what ye want aren’t ye.
You’re the sort of lad who is delighted with your new semidetached house and then your friend buys a detached and then the world is shite again. Cant you ever seem to think a little bit positively??
And if you are feeling depressed you should talk to someone and get help.
But consistently trying to twist and argue with people here and act in devils of facts isn’t going to help you in any shape or form |

If I were you I’d avoid a job which requires analytical thinking because I have friends and family living in Australia and New Zealand.
Just off a zoom call with my sister who lives in Australia....Sydney and Melbourne going back into lockdown so yes they are back to normal I have friends in Perth. they were out partying like lunatics last night
But consistently trying to twist and argue with people here and act in devils of facts isn’t going to help you in any shape or form what facts? I said friends were out partying like lunatics in clubs in Perth last night. do u think everywhere in the world is locked down the same way?
And when you mention...."here" or "home" are you talking about tipp...or where you are based nowwhat?
Are you talking about lockdowns here in ireland...or lockdowns where you are basedsure we are all in the same lockdown in Ireland "

Oh yeah if you think you have it bad, just think what it must feel like for people in Syria or Yemen after years of war. that's a stupid eg. "
Not really, Syria's economy was flourishing before the war, it was a stable country.
It's actually very simple, the health system can't cope with high figures that's why we have to keep transmission low through restrictions. Do I agree with all of those restrictions, no I don't but there's no perfect recipe out there. Just get on with it. |

" full lockdowns open, full lockdowns open are not working. same thing happens every time. full lockdown at beginning when u don't know what you're dealing with, fair enough but 10 months into it when you're sitting down everyday evaluating the situation. not good enough. they should have a better plan at this stage. I know many businesses that have closed and people loosing their jobs. you're right on the hospitals but in this day and age having hospitals like a third world country is a disgrace. |

Thank God
Harsh!!!
Also, hermit:
a person living in solitude as a religious discipline
This is not me for sure op. And am guessing it's not many others on here " what i mean by hermit is living totally restricted lives. we're in our 3rd lockdown.
absolutely ,I understand why they do it but at this stage, a virus with us since last march (possibly before) and experts revaluating the situation everyday, examining this, that and the other, the only solution we have 10 months on is lockdowns open lockdown open. the way I see it now, we will be living like this until so many % are vaccinated. I don't see us exiting this l5 on the 31st January. |
