OK I'm bored in work and my feet are freezing.

So any tips for how to get through the next few days

1) make sure you have stocked up on batteries for Xmas day as Santa doesn't bring them.

2) soak the marrowfat peas overnight

Don't leave all the present wrapping til Christmas Eve - it always takes longer than you think!

Knutty Crust is the best bread for breadcrumbs for your stuffing. Buy it now so it's slightly stale and dry and easier to breadcrumb in a couple of days

I'm inclined to think you're correct about the marrowfat/mushy peas. I'm pretty sure it's marowfats that are used to make mushy peas. I love both myself.

Beside turnip it's one of the most outlandish foods I came across first when landing on the Irish shores about 16 years ago. I declare it as inedible.
