I have always used Vaseline in those small tins. I put it on my lips all the time, as soon as they feel a little dry. It works really well.

If I've chapped lips, anything sticky or waxy that comes in stick form is actually more harmful than good I find.

Just leaves you with greasy feeling wet lips, and only make u wanna lick/smack them, making the problem worse.

Creams like blistex are the job I find.

Gary is right, blistex is the business.

If you want something balmier though, the nuxe reve de miel in the pot ( not the stick) is brilliant and not glossy so good for men too.

Also the Dr Lipp nipple balm (or the rebranded "miracle" balm - same stuff) is a great multi use product, great for lips, dry cuticles, heels etc and lasts forever. They have it in tkmaxx at the mo so don't pay full price

Elizabeth Arden 8 hours lipstick balm for me . Mine too get so dry in the winter months. Wearing masks for 8 to 10 hours a day doesn't help either.

All decent lip Balms should have sun protection in them.

My LO has chronically chapped lips, so much so that she needed a stitch in one once. The only thing that works for her is Cymex. Chemist does it for about €2.80 and it clears them up a treat. A quick coat once a day prevents them getting worse.

Get her iron checked. Along with vit B12 and folate.

"Which do you think is the best lip balm/moisturiser? This weather has the face cut off me "

I make my own: extravirgin coconut oil, mixed with essential rose petals oil, almond oil, a bit oh acacia honey, and aloe vera gel.

You can add a little of natural food colourant. I cannot use the ones from the shelf, so making my own over 15 years

What ratios do you use and how do you store it?

I have a small container so its 1 tsp of coconut oil, 1/4 tsp of almond oil and 2 drops essential oil, 1/4 of aloe vera, 1/8 of honey. Re food colourant it could be a powder or gel or just beets juice.

If you want to make a bigger amount then double it, divide by two and store in the fridge up to a month.

I normally use it within a week.

Okeefes lip repair is by far the best one I've found. It's in an orange tube and it's not pretty looking at all but it works!

Failing that blistex cream is great, but difficult to find.

Coconut oil is my go to for everything. Mix some with brown sugar to make a gentle lip scrub to get rid of all the dead skin. Wipe it all off and put vaseline or coconut oil on to put moisture back in.
