A town near you

Growing up my folks ingrained something on myself and my siblings regarding finances.

1st weeks wages should cover mortgage of not your living beyond your means.

2nd weeks wages should cover utility Bill's heating insurance etc.

3rd week should cover monthly grocery bill

4th week wages should be savings for holidays rainy days etc.

I've pretty much tried to live by that, never had a car on finance. Only drove what I could afford to buy outright, never actually bought anything unless I could afford to buy it out right for cash, never had a loan just a mortgage.

Yet i know people on 80k a year who are broke at the end of every month

To be honest someone with 50k plus in a current account sounds like someone that is mot very good with money, unless they are about to move it elsewhere.

I know interest rates on saving accounts aren't worth talkingabout these days but that money should not just be sitting on it ass not making friends

They could have moved it there or just recieved a loan to buy a car or something.

Someone with 50K in a bank account is doing very well with money

OP, are you saying someone left the paper and their bank acc bal is over 50k?

Everything is possible if people do savings i stead spending half of salary every month for unwanted stuff

Plus add their good salary and bonuses or it was somebody's business acc?

Anyway, we wont tell you our pin codes
