In a social media post he used the same racial slur Luis Suarez used against Patrice Evra . Will the same fans who called for very heavy punishments call for the same for Cavani ?
Just for clarity.. the defence of Suarez at the time both by club and many fans was indefensible. |

Have you analysed his statistics? Do you watch his contribution to the game? You're just quoting statistics and as I've said, he's the ultimate stat padder and he does this as a flat track bully or my piling it on against the weak teams ie he'll score 4 agaisnt tbe likes of Bournemouth.
He couldn't not score goals with the system that Liverpool play and the chances they make but my point is the other 3 bring more to the team. You'll probably look at firmino's stats on paper and disagree with me but watch the games and watch what he brings to the team.
The other 3 can do what he does and more. How many times in big games does he score the big goal, the first goal, or when they're getting beaten does he score the goal to get them back into it, or when they're not playing well and need to grind something out, how often is it him? Virtually never.
That man is usually Sadio Mane and has been all along. |

Suarez received an 8 match ban for what he said to Evra . In an era when the sensitivity of racial slurs is more understood than ever then surely a similar ban should be handed out to Cavani . Also from Uruguay so it's hard to argue he meant something entirely different to Suarez. Liverpool fucked up big time with that incident but I'm sure Utd won't accept the same from one of their own players after Evra had been subjected to that same slur by Suarez.

Oh was it 8, thought it was a bit longer. Cavani has to get at least that for the very point you made that of the era we're living in. We're 8 or so years on from the Suarez/Evra incident so people simply should not be making comments like that. Cavani & Suarez are both international team mates, they've probably spoken about it or at the very least Cavani would have known about his team mate being banned from football and the reason!
Liverpool didn't come out looking good, maybe the fault of naive owners very new to football. At the time there was no evidence(although Suarez later admitted what he said) of what was said.
There really is nothing to argue except how long the ban is. I would say it Cavani deserves more because every one of us should be better informed in 2020 and it has now been seen by 100s of 1000s of people, maybe millions. 1 person heard Suarez' insult. Both players are absolutely wrong in their actions and words. |

Plus you don't speak for "EVERYONE" and their culture. I'm not condoning racism whatsoever but there is a language barrier involved here and the circumstances of the post should be taken into consideration. You've used the term "this type of abuse", who was he "abusing"? Who was his post directed at? You've gone off on one without even stopping to think.

Apparently in Uruguay it's not viewed as harshly or it's not viewed as an insult, more of a term for a friend..clearly he didn't know any better...if you read about Cavani, he is one of the good guys of football and gives plenty back, he has often had teammates of all races and never any incident before.. .however with everything going on now in 2020 everyone with a smart phone loves a social media attack..  and unfortunately for him it was quite a stupid thing to say..he should be and will be fined and banned and made an example of, otherwise why are they taking the knee every week when the point has firmly been made.. but leave it there and don't condemn the man..I'm not racist btw, I just think the knee thing is losing its image doing it every single game..  |

Suarez and Cavani played together for Uruguay . Unless Cavani took a bump to the head and totally forgot the incident that got Suarez an 8 match ban then I don't buy that excuse for a milisecond.

Very good. . There are a couple of crusaders on here speaking for everyone Cavani himself included. I'm willing to bet neither of you know a fucking thing about Cavani as a person outside his football career and what you've read in whatever media you read which is always open dke debate. I'm also willing to bet that said crusaders don't speak his language, come from his background and have any insight into his culture or even know the person he posted his tweet too.

No one on here has condoned racism or is defending it in any shape or form. The crux of the matter here is not whether he gets a ban or not, that's secondary, but it's whether he intended anything other than what he claims he intended. You can not simply type it into Google translate and jump to conclusions.
There's no point ranting on a thread on a swingers site to a whole pile of people who have already condemned racsim. Get off your asses and go and get involved in educating the people that need educated and do something about it rather than cheap talk on repeat on here!! |

Unfortunately we can not help educate and improve the attitudes of car brakes and sickness.
No amount of education will change racist views.. All it does is silence racist people.. They will still hold racist beliefs and hatred inside but won't vocalise it for fear of being castigated.. So do campaigns like these work? No..people will always be racist
So in your distorted view of the world it is better for racists to be racist rather than shut their mouths ?
Does the same apply to pedos ? Would you suggest they also act on their urges ?

Again , I asked if you would apply the same to pedos that tou would to racists. I didn't say that you did . The question is not the conclusion. It is a method to get to a conclusion by trying to get answers a conclusion could be soundly based on.

In Latin America like in many other parts of the globe they breath footbal and it has a huge influence in society. That's why it is so important that their representatives and more those who are always in the spotlight care wholeheartedly about their persona. Including their use of language. In spanish "negrito" has differnet meanings. It depends on the context its used. It can be used in a friendly and a derogatory way. Here's an interesting detail that should be considered. If Cavani's friend doesn't belong to the black "race" then he used this word (friendly or not) to make reference to his friend's darker color of skin, which is completely wrong. Why? This takes a lot to explain and would require to go into the spanish invasion to Latin A. Now if his friend belongs to the black race then he should say if he felt offended or not. Anyway going back to if Cavani should be punished. I'd say yes. Its about time to get rid of the archaic use of language specially that caused disasters for centuries. Education needs to change drastically and anywhere anytime when a person has the chance to throw two cents to contribute to this in a positive way they should f..g do it, even in a swinging site like fab.... Those who labelled Cavani as a racist without any context or understanding are just as ignorant and intolerant at they tried to portray him as. Total hypocrites. |
