"I've seen a documentary about it
People find a favourite swimming spot in rivers, lakes and sea inlets and go swimming everyday in them
Some go nude and some wear wet suits "
I just wear shorts |

Isn't this just swimming in seas or lakes instead of man made swimming pools? Haven't people been doing that since forever ? Especially people that live close to beaches. |

Scarlett does this every weekend... and will not shut up about it
I’m from a warmer climate so I don’t even swim in the summer but ‘wild swimming’ is an odd term for it. Do we have to refer to walking outdoors now as ‘wild walking’? |

I am sure it it were to be wild walking there would want to be something "wild" about it perhaps walking in your jocks in all weathers nothing else on. Maybe some other added elements also. I wouldn't mind meet your better half "wild swimming" |

I think wild swimming might refer to lakes and rivers. Go out and explore, find a river or lake and take a dip. I do a bit of swimming but not brave enough for skins in these temps |

Hopefully you see this, I was only having a laugh. I didn’t mean any offense there. Just a bit of banter

Youghal |
We did it for the first time today. It seems to have gotten more popular down our way so we decided to see what the fuss was about.
Without sounding like preachy vegan types, it was worth it, definitely felt amazing afterwards. We cant wait to pop down again on Friday. |

Not trying to be a party pooper but can everyone please be mindful of their safety and that of others when trying something like this for the first time.
The number of people who have ventured into the great outdoors for the first time this year with little or no thought for what they are wearing or where they are going is putting enormous pressure on local rescue services.
By all means be adventurous and have fun but spare a thought for those who have to find you or pull you out if you get into difficulty. |
