When is the right time to erect your Xmas bits?
I travel a lot, and I've witnessed houses with Xmas decorations up already, I initially mistook for Halloween decorations but on closer inspection yes it was Xmas decor.
Is it too early? When is the right time and when are you putting up yours? |

My youngest says Nov 1st...we are battling out at the moment as I don't actually have room right now to even consider putting the tree up.
I saw a post on Fb, people putting fairy and twinkly lights up to brighten lockdown. |

In my home country tree goes up on the 24th of December and down on the 6th of January. It took me a couple of years to grasp that here in Ireland the madness starts way earlier. Anyhow I think 1st of December is appropriate and leave November be what it is, namely the most miserable month in the year. |

I was out for a walk on December 26th a few years ago and was passing by a local green waste recycling facility when a car sped past me and stopped at the gate. The boot was open and in it was stuffed a Christmas tree which the driver pulled out and angrily threw on the ground, lights, baubles and everything still on it... I felt he needed a hug but I wasn't the man for the job. He drove off in a rather aggressive fashion as well. I wondered what the background was for a long time. |

Most towns are looking to put em up early in an effort to raise spirits in the current climate |

Not a fan of Christmas at all due to numerous family losses either just before or after but I've always felt that putting up decorations too early is like setting off fireworks at the beginning of October. It dilutes the thrill and excitement of the whole season.
At the same time I find it strange that people take them down again on the 27th.
Maybe I'm a traditionalist but growing up nothing beat putting the tree up on Christmas Eve and it stayed until just after the New year. |

Every year the decorations go up and it takes me an extra 10 mins to go to bed by the time I've turned off everything
I dont care about it this year...whatever it takes to cheer the family up but I can't help think the house is going to look particularly bleak when it all comes down in January |

By the sound of it he most likely didn't like his Christmas present. |

For me it's usually not until December. But this year I just felt like putting them up early. So I've made a little Christmas corner in my bedroom. I have a little tree with lights and baubles, colourful beads on the shelves, 2 stockings, and light up battery candle, and a santa for on top of my tree.
And tbh I feel a bit happier every time I see it. |

Lots of houses in my area have Xmas decorations.
I think people want to have some enjoyment in this crazy time.
I think Ill put mine in last week of November. Usually on Dec 6th

"With this level 5 thing going on here I'm feeling like a Christmas tree myself. The balls are purely ornamental at the moment.
Yeah that angel hair on you looks more like sheep wool. "
Does that turn you on? |

Cos it turns me on! "
I'm not really the kitschy kinky person, balls and the candle will do me, but if it gives you a kick I go along with it. |

They sometimes do kick. A bungee cord around the hind legs can prevent that though |

Lots of people in Limerick City put their Christmas decorations up after Halloween including me even though I'm in Tipperary now. However they do come down early too. |

There's no right or wrong time imo
If it makes you happy do it now

I never before put Christmas decorations up before December 8th. This year as I'm not reopening till December I'll use my time off to decorate the house early. |

If it brings any bit of comfort to everyone after the few months we had fairplay to them! I myself will be holding of another 2 weeks or so.
I read today that buying Christmas decorations are not essential stuff and won't be for sale so I hope everyone still have there's from other years |
