It was a disastrous second half. Needed be ahead of French when on top and go in at halftime with lead. We didn't and then lost rag in second. Disappointing |

Look at our competitive rivals, all young talented players coached to play flowing attacking rugby backed but a strong front 8. Unfortunately we have not been willing to introduce young talented players early and trust then. Yes the po is limited but our once mighty players have peaked in 2018. |

Flowing attacking rugby is something that is coached from minis upwards. It's not something that a national coach can influence.
If you look at France, NZ, even England, their tight five are all exceptional ball handlers. When you benchmark that against the Irish forwards, we're lacking. Even our imports aren't up-to standard. If you want to play flowing attacking rugby, you have to get the half break and the offload - Irish players have seldom ever done this |

I stopped watching the green bottlers a long time ago. Over hyped and under perform when it matters ALWAYS.
World Rugby is a joke. New Zealand have been playing Fijians and Pacific islanders for years under the guise that they are All Blacks. Every team on the world stage now has a significant number of players in their ranks by way of the residency rule. It's pathetic. Why should these guys who are usually deemed not good enough to play for their own country be paid on a professional contract to play for an adopted country at the expense of our own home grown players??? Are we that desperate to compete? Because these guys aren't good enough to win anything??
Why no just scrap international rugby and play club rugby as essentially that's what these rules are making it an extension of anyway?
Total bottlers!!! |

yea poor performance by a poor team.. Best player was stander by a mile who was his usual industries self followed by Ryan.. Stockdale is a disgrace butter fingers comes to mind.. He was at fault for 2 tries.. Basic errors.. Should either be dropped or put on the wing if he wants to keep his place.. Rob Kearney is greatly missed at full back.. Healy is also showing signs of age along with sexton who sulked like a child and shook his head when substituted.. He missed 7 points from conversions which would have won the grand slam.. At 35 should be retired will he be still around at 39 playing at the next major tournament I really hope not.. Donncha Ryan and zebo are playing great rugby in France and should be playing only for irfus stupid rule.. They will be bankrupt soon if these covid restrictions continue oh well |

Ryan was excellent - no questions there. Disagree on Stander, if you watch him, sure, he comes up with 2-3 turnovers a game but never makes a go-forward tackle, never clears a ruck, generally makes about 15 carries for 10 meters but doesn't ever produce quick ruck-ball. He has no step, no pass, no subtleties to his game. He wasn't good enough for the Boks for a reason and he's getting a game for Ireland because there wasn't anyone else at the time he qualified. There now is with Doris, Leavy, vd Flier, O'Mahony, Conan, Connors...even Henderson can play at 6.
Stockdale at fullback is an experiment to get some more size into the back three. Larmour is exciting when running but not a commanding presence under the high-ball. With Conway, Keenan and some others around you have nobody to do what Falou could do and that's what Farrell wants.
Zebo plays the majority of his rugby on the wing in Racing and I think you'll find, like Dan Carter, that being in a marauding team can make players seem better than they are. Remove the marauding pack from that team and they're mediocre. He's a not a kicking player like Kearney and from the last interview I heard from him, he's no desire to move back to Ireland so clearly it doesn't matter to him.
The fact that one sticks a knife into Sexton for missing some kicks shows the standards you hold him to. If Zebo or Stander missed those kicks, I don't think you'd hear Quinlan etc. sharpening knives. Fact of Sexton is, he drives a standard and hates losing - everyone should hate losing, he just allows people to see it |

Totally agree and our underage players up to under 21 are all taught this but it is filtered out by the provinces in favour of Conservative safe rugby.
Hopefully given time andy Farrell will bring this back out in the national squad |
