The Changling with George C Scott. A proper psychological scary movie rather than comedy movies like IT or Nightmare on Elm Street.

"The Exorcist "

This traumatized me for life. I'm a chicken for horror films, not embarrased to say it.

But the shine, on a different level, would be an option for a film this HW.

Love the original Salem's Lot. They're remaking it now but it won't be the same.

Love horror movies for Halloween.

The Exorcist, Hellraiser, The Ring (Japanese), Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Candyman.

I'll be watching a lot

It's one of the few horror films that really stuck with me after it was over. That whole final sequence is just so intensely terrifying and as you say it doesn't have to be gross. The situation itself is just so horrifying. Perfect!

Yeah, while I like horror movies, the ones that have the most affect on me are the ones that give me a situation I can easily imagine myself in, like Deliverance for example. I love that movie.

The paranormal themed Horror movies like The Exorcist, IT, etc. are all very enjoyable but don't frighten me at all.
