Has anyone seen the ads on facebook looking for workers to help out in the hospitals during this pandemic im thinking of applying it says the posts are temporary was just wondering did anyone know how temporary and what would be the chances of being kept on after the inital contract ends have just started a new job in a nursing home but they have me working nites which i hate but i took it as its a job but if i thought i would be kept on if i got the hospital one i would apply for it

It depends on the demand and drain on the current staff, as to whether it would become permanent it's impossible to tell. I know of staff that have been temporary for 3 years

Only you can make the decision. You would have more chance of getting a permanent job going through hscni rather than an agency post too

Sounds like you might get into something. It would look very good anyway on a CV of any future hospital you might try to get a job in. Ring up and ask about prospects too.

Great idea, go for it, mentally the reward is enormous for your confidence helping in a pandemic. You will never know unless you try it, you have everything to gain. Stay safe.

I feel your pain. Worked nights in a nursing home for 2 years and Jesus. That shit is rough!

I'd say your best bet is to apply and when they call you you can ask them your questions and they'll be able to give you the facts.

Also, even if you're in as agency you'll have access to internal job opportunities that aren't available to non staff.
