"I've tickets for life festival.. Carried over from this year, I'd say as soon as covid is over the demand for festivals will be massive "
I fear covid might not ever be over, and it could be several years before the risk is lowered enough for massive crowds of people together in 1 place. |

The insurance company that covers most festivals has pulled covid cover next year completely
It means that if a promoter sells tickets and books acts and its cancelled then there's no payout to anyone
Would you pay a couple of hundred euro to someone on that basis
Sooner or later people that had tickets for this year are going to be looking for refunds as they won't be able to afford to go anyway if they go ahead |

This has been my biggest "miss" over lockdown.
I like the smaller festivals with a community vibe.
I love the feel of togetherness and space and the smell of night air and cut grass, the sound of music and the feel of energy and laughter.
Living in rural isolation is absolutely fine for the most part, but I have had deep cravings for those weekends, those experiences, those people. A letting go, a freedom to be, a camaraderie, a connection to nature and the feel of the music through the air and earth and the sense of sexual energy in the air and the abundance of time. Not just a 3 hour night club hit, but a weekend land in, be in, embrace and experience.
My job is high responsibility. My life is high responsibility. These weekends were a musical retreat and release and I miss them terribly.
I hope that there will be some way to facilitate these outdoor gatherings next year.

Pah.. I was in the crowd at Glastonbury '94 when the fence was breached. 300,000 ended up in front of the Pyramid stage to see The Levellers headline.
Yes I'm old. |

"Never been to a festival so can't claim to be missing them but I can imagine they are like many other things we used to take for granted and how important they were in our lives."
I have, nothing would induce me to go again. |

This description actually gave me butterfly's in my belly! The small local community ones are always the best, I'm all for big ones also but I just feel the togetherness is way better at smaller gatherings!
Mark my words there will be plenty in 2021 |

Yeah I went..I think 6 years ago and it was so very very cool. Not too packed with people and stalls. Maybe 20,000 less. |
