Stan Ridgway - Camouflage
Paul Hardcastle - 19 (both of those were about Vietnam, oddly enough)
Goombay Dance Band - seven tears
Tight Fit - the lion sleeps tonight
And arguably the biggest was Jennifer Rush - The Power of Love. One of 3 hits by that name in the same year (the others were by Frankie Goes to Hollywood & Huey Lewis and the News), it was number one for ages, but she never troubled the charts again.

Jim Diamond - I should have known better, someone bought the record and 6 year old me played it incessantly. |

Not technically correct. Her follow up single ring of ice made number 14 in the UK chart and number 1 in South Africa. But many slow sets in the 80s had with Jennifer warbling in the background. |

"Men at Work - Land Down Under
Introduced the term "chunder" to a whole new audience"
They did have a couple of hits though - Who Can It Be Now is probably the best-known. Though LDU was far and away the biggest hit, not only number 1 but their only top 10 hit. |

"Angry anderson Suddenly
John parr man in motion(saint elmos fire)"
Before he had that hit, Angry was the singer in Rose Tattoo, an AC/DC-style Aussie blues-boogie band. When Bon Scott died, he was on the shortlist to replace him. |

Tight Fit did 'Fantasy Island'
Paul Hardcastle also did 'Don't Waste My Time' and 'Wizard' (which became theme to "Top Of The Pops") |

"First time by Robin Beck.
I loved the TV advert for this, I think it was coca cola"
My first time ever hearing this was one of the queens in The George early 2000s doing it as a performance and emptied cans of Coke over herself on the stage
Loved it ever since!! |
