For years I was adamant that dinosaurs couldnt have feathers.
I just refused to accept it as I didnt want the badass illusion of them that I learned as a kid, to be shattered by images of them clucking and flapping about the place.
Now i actually think the opposite. How amazing it is that everything from feathers for insulation, to hollow bones to support their enormous size, eventually all came together to support the completly unrelated practice of flight. |

All my life I used to think that mfm threesome was most useless form of group sex as the girl just ended up sucking cock most of the time.
Now I think it's extremely hot to have two men: four hands, two months and two cocks to spoil me rotten.
P.s. way overdue |

I recently got chickens and they're just like weird like dinosaurs. It's kind of terrifying. |

Is that your genuine response ? "
Um. No. It was a joke... I'll just put myself to bed now. |

What have you last changed your mind on or what have you changed your mind in the past that you previously held a strong opinion on ?
A lot of people think they are right all the time and no amount of facts can break through their cognitive dissonance be it emotional/indoctrinated beliefs etc. |

Probably that with age novelty of playing with women and ffm threesomes have worn off and I realised that most of my life it's been only men except for... maybe 2-3 women who ever managed to make me reach the big O.
Not saying all men have, only saying that men I've ever met have been with have done way more powerful things..
And porn of course to help me with the visual image |

Changed my mind about climate change because the evidence is mounting too quickly
Changed my mind about eating meat as a result of the above
Changed my mind about not wanting children because my ex wanted them, turned out my initial instincts on that one were spot on! |

Exactly this. I'm evidence based. Show me the evidence and I'm converted. |

Changed my mind about specific events or individuals in both a positive and negative way.
Changed my mind about 6 years ago about my own contribution to humanity.
Not quite an "It's a wonderful Life" realisation but in the grand scheme it was a definite about turn. |

The most recent thing was probably Covid.
If you had asked me in March I'd have said ah its just a bad flu.....
A big one and one that was spoken about recently in here was my own attitude to travellers.
I'd have been very prejudiced towards them after years of working in public leisure centres.
It's something I have to actively work on rather than a natural change though. |

May I ask...(I agree with you by the way) but what framework do you happen to use ?
I try to educate myself through science when it's applicable and also try to challenge my own biases before reaching conclusions which may be subjective for me .
Outside of that I try to research statistics to come to a more informed opinion . I'm lucky in that I've never had a FB account so don't get involved in some of the anarchy I hear going on there . |

Possibly. I like to hear different peoples viewpoints incase they see things completely different to how I see it and can tell me something I haven’t considered |

It's not for a public forum but the gist of it is that I always believed my purpose in life was to help and support others but then realised I had forgotten to look after myself while doing all that. |

It wasn't a sudden realisation either. It took years which is why I'd call a mind change rather than a realisation. |

Recently one of my friends came out to me about what he went through in an abusive relationship. I was on the phone when he told about this to me. I was telling myself ‘wtf, why couldn’t he push back and stand up for himself and why’s he being a wuss’. But when I met him that evening I realised his pain looking at him. He was in love with the wrong person but couldn’t move away and was depressed and suicidal. I never knew he was going through this until he came out. So I’m never gonna judge a persons state of mind by what they are portraying outside. |

Ankle socks is another one. I vehemently dispised them for a long time. No self respecting Alpha Male such as myself could ever saunter around flaunting his ankles for all and sundry to gawk at lol
Plus, the temperature gradient of having that section of leg exposed while the rest was covered just sounded annoying.
However, if you're doing any sort of exercise, having regular socks falling down your leg constantly pulling them up... its a pain in the hoop. I've definitely changed my mind on that important issue

I was conditioned by circumstance and had been a carer from the age of 12 so I completely bypassed my teenage years and had settled in a particular pattern for almost 3 decades. It had nothing to do with middle age because I was aware of it all along but didn't have the strength to seek an alternative.
Once I did start to progress it still took 10 years to take the first step towards that mind change. |

Honestly I would say my willingness to listen to alternative opinions, to learn from them and as much as I can, is mine in itself. Rather than existing in an echo chamber.
I've never been dismissive of differing views but I would say I've been naive, certainly growing up; we all tend to accept what we're taught rather than question it sure!
It's not a sign of being weak-willed to change your opinion nor is it necessarily stoic to be so set in your beliefs.
However, having said all that, fruit does not belong on pizza and I am prepared to die on that hill! |

Much the same actually. I will read scientific papers and articles in areas in general that interest me. Science, technology, medicine, parenting, food, electronics, loads of stuff. Anything where I'm undecided or feel I need to review an opinion. Obviously my own morals and feelings inform my opinions. We will all interpret data differently due to our lives so far and our experiences..but data can override previous opinion if its sufficiently strong. I've flip flopped on a few things. Drug policy, trans rights, and some green issues being a few. This evidence based approach is the reason im an athiest, and the reason I speak up against homeopathy / chiropractors / organics, and such nonsense. |

"The biggest change of mind I had was in becoming a parent
And of course, the change from a believer in Christianity to atheism
"
I'm an atheist myself and althought baptised a catholic and assigned the belief system I'm not sure how much credibility I ever gave it .
The more I looked at it the more nonsense I foundand the more I questioned those who "believed" the more I realised many of them have a want to believe rather than looking at any particular evidence.any I have found were completely ignorant to many parts of the bible which should surely be a foundation of their beliefs .
Out of curiosity would you count yourself as sporitual ?
I'd have thoughts about collective conscoousness and necoming aligned with those on a similar wavelength
.almost a cosmic consciousness if you like. I'm grateful for my limited time as an expression of the universe manifesting a way of observing itself. We are made of star stuff afterall ! |

Like other users say, changing your mind with more evidence is good. Being able to critically analyses the information is important too other wise any information can away you.
Relatively recently a big one was on Free Will. Not Free Willy before anyone gets smart
People rarely change their mind I. Real time it's usually only after that we can allow the idea that we are wrong to sink in. |

I change my mind all the time! Especially with opinions on things, I'm always open to hearing other perspectives and looking for new information. That said, it takes a persuasive argument to actually sway me.
Things I've changed my mind about have been - casual sex (I'm not actually that into it) , non-monogamy (I am definitely monogamous and think that non-monogamy is not successful for the vast majority of people), marriage (not of benefit to women in any way, no idea why we do it) , kids (not sure I want them anymore). |
