I just came across a poll Eoin Ó Broin cited where it mentions a 50% support for SF in that age bracket.
Is that polling accutate would you think ? Certainly FF are falling away even more during last few weeks.
FG polled at 23%
FF polled at 11%
GP polled at 4%
SD, LAB,S-PBP all at 2%.
Aon at 0%.
I'd have thought SD would have been slightly higher tbh.

"Its accurate to the normal rules of polls taken over 12 days
SF always do better in polls than elections as their supporters don't usually get out to vote on the day "
Says it all really, they want someone else to do the work! |

"I'm no voter or in anyway into politics except for the budget but I'd have no problem to vote for SF if I was "
The only thing I'd say to that is to pay a bit more attention at election time
People from all sides died so we'd have the right to vote in elections and your kids will be here long after you leave
Get out and vote next time |

I vote regularly now ,didn't when I was younger but we have no credible people. We literally have no good people to vote for. I'd slightly favour sf but I dont love them or think they'll be miles better than the rest. Think they'll be slightly better but they'll be caught up in controversy too. Ireland seems hopeless to me politically, theres no real punishment for corruption and abuse of power in Ireland so it's not going to stop. |

I would agree with this, as a people we lack spine and principle, unsurprisingly this is reflected in our houses of government. In a democracy, you get the government you deserve. |

Most accurate description of a SF voter I’ve heard |

It would be an interesting analysis to see what they're transfer figures are vs the rest. My hunch is that they're the most un-transfer friendly party.
They put forward so many ideas, but they don't appear to understand how to pay for them. |

I'm a leftist and The problem with this country is there is no viable left sided party to vote for it's always been treaty politics labour used to be a working persons party but they sold out year's ago. Then you have the leftist cranks (pbp aaa etc) who only point out problems and never put forward any solutions. At least SF put forward policies to the floor. FF and FG a two cheeks of the same arse. But until there is actual change in the way people veiw politics then there will be no change |

Conservstive right wing governments anywhere in the world look after big business and wealthy people. Socialist parties never have the money to realise their ideals. That's why politicians give me the runs. It's every man and woman for themselves and their families |

Totally agree, I'd like a decent centre left party but we don't have one. Labour in this country is really weak, i voted sd in last election. I could never bring myself to vote SF, it's very easy to give out and blame people, SFs stated policies seem like they want to return to the years of unemployment and they'll have no money to pay for it... And I'm still astonished that people would not mind a government led by people still so connected with serious criminality.
Who wants to start fab socialusts....oooh that was a typo but I like the sound of it!! |

For all politicians of all parties, despite their ideas or manifestos its very difficult to change the system...the permanent government aka the public service, the unions & big business interests...Irish politics are basically centrist with conservative views to not upset the interests. |
