Is Dublin to Big in Dubliners mine to go in stage 3
Jump to: Newest in thread
Listening to radio and reading on the internet this morning its group after group coming on saying its not us but someone else that is causing the rise in covid19 in Dublin.
If you agree with it or not the government and NEFIT have always said once the R number or number per 100000 went up regions would change stages.
When Offaly Loais and kildare went into stage 3 even thou with most out breaks were in meat factories and not in the home it was put into stage 3 with out a second thougt over night ,and it was effective as numbers dropped.
Numbers in Dublin are now raising rapitly yet you had protests in the street at the weekend people not wearing masks house parties street parties pubs getting around covid19 laws by getting in empty takeaway boxes on tables so they can serve drink and other bars with the barman dancing on the bar pooring drink into the mouths of customers, has the day of personal responsibility and community spirit total gone in our big towns and cities, You dont know the person acouple of doors down nevermind on the next street ,so its Fuck you Jack im ok and now covid19 is biting Dublin in the ass both by infecting people and turning the city into a ghost town.Dont attack me for pointing out the facts or start blaming the Government for personal responsibility just to fill the Forum |

From tomorrow I think they'll close everything in Dublin for a couple of weeks...to be honest I've no sympathy for the pub owners
Everyone I know including my own family have been in pubs since tge reopen with no time limit
Lockdown is also coming for Waterford...big outbreak in Dawn meats about to be announced |

Straight away you attack the poster not the facts
You cant disagree with the figures and they say covid19 is been spread in Dublin in the home and then you have post all over social media showing people doing ridiculous things |

Agree with last post . A lot ....but not all pubs are breaking the rules . Know plenty of people who have spent hours in bars drinking. With no food required . Feel sorry for the genuine small publican all over the country with mortgage and families to look after trying to do the right thing . As for the ordinary people... they teens and early twenties people are completely ignoring the rules ..
So OP it's not all the dubliners that are flaunting the rules .
So please don't be like the mayo and other gaa fans . And be all against the dubs . Plenty of good genuine people up here in Dublin |

I agree ,I have also been in pubs I have bought a meal but have never been ask to leave after the time ,now I did feel safe with there covid19 restrictions but i have also walked out of pubs were i did not feel safe ,what people do not realise is that the huge preassure that is been put on the HSE in Dublin is taking from other parts of the country ,random testing in meat factories was stop last week so they could move them to Dublin , so Waterford going into stage 3 because of an outbreak in the meat factory could be traced back to testers been pulled back to Dublin |

OP I am not sure if you are being purposefully provocative or not.
The fuck you jack attitude is not confined to big citys or towns. The fact is the higher the population density the higher the spread regardless of behavior.
I havent spoken to one Dublin person that thinks they are above a lockdown. Most of them expect one. |

Would you like to give me your opinon on why numbers are rising so fast in Dublin ,im not saying everyone is partying im saying socially in big towns and cities all over the world were there is a low or no community spirit there is greater antisocial behavior and low compliance with law |

Totally agree with what you are saying there should be no workerson low wages or poor conditons or anyone left to root in a refugee center but that is not what is driving numbers in Dublin |

The higher the population the higher the numbers and risk of more rising numbers. Even where I live numbers are rising on the daily, but either people are of the mindset to get on with it as social distancing and even masks are slacking more and more. My fear is the deaths creeping back up if we continue the way we are by October 1000 cases a day and we hitting the winter too with flu season. I'm not saying Dublin is to blame and don't think op thinks it but we all have to take accountability we gonna hit a even crisis if we don't I've seen numbers of people saying if lockdown happens in my county or full lockdown I'm not doing it again. People have had enough of covid but covid hasn't had enough of us |

Was it not the skerries COVID party lately that added to the numbers.COVID is spreading through households not refugees in hotels as your suggesting. Its a case of a certain number of Dubs not adhering to safety advice and making hardship for genuine Dubs who are making a great effort

"You must work for one of those sweat houses down there. "
No outbreaks in meat factories in dublin as the op stated the rise of infection can be traced to households. Theres a simple cure limit ur contacts wear masks to limit the spread of droplets and wash ur hands regularly
Why is it so hard for people to realise less contact reduces risks to all its personal responsibility for ur actions |

Dublin is the economic power house of Ireland.. That's why there is a reluctance to lock it down fully like what happened to Kildare offaly and laois.. You lockdown Dublin the country will grind to a halt.. What good is saving a few lives if we are have no money and starve with the hunger.. A balance needs to be found and a total lockdown of Dublin would be a Disaster for this country economically.. Best to keep everything ticking over |

Well there’s such a thing as personal responsibility too. Can’t exactly hang and quarter the pubs if your own have been happy enough to flout the guidelines. That’s quite a Karen attitude really.
If you all were that annoyed by the pubs, you would at the very least have kept to the fine limits yourselves. It’s really hypocritical. It’s like “how dare they break the rules, but thanks for breaking them for us. Fair play Mr Wanker Barman” |

In fairness when I say my own family I mean my brothers and there's not much I can do about that.
But sure enough after weeks of WhatsApp message from them in pubs flouting the law the messages changed last night to " The cunts are closing the pubs...we'll go to celbridge for pints"
Nothing to do with them why the pubs have closed of course
Thanks for being the first to call me Karen by the way |

I have to agree. Plenty I know have bragged about overstaying their time, that the pubs didn't care etc. I usually told them that they were adults and should have a bit more cop on regarding the time limits. Fell on deaf ears though. |

From what I understand from science of it
Day 1 you pick up the virus
Day 2 virus multiplying in you
Day 3 you start spreading the virus you don't know you have
Day 4 you get symptoms and therefore they don't care where you got it just where you spread it

Thats a slight over simplification.
The justice system in Ireland in general needs an overhaul. Criminals from all classes escape punishment or get very lenient sentencing for their crimes. While other people experiance far more severe punishment for minimal infractions.
Plenty people have broken the guidelines without the scrutiny and eventual loss of posts that some politicians have had.
Not making excuses for any of it but its not ever as simple as the "one rule for them and one for us" populas view |

Traceability? Do you think that (for example) a fabber is going to admit to being at a swinging party with 20 others this weekend, anda different one last weekend? Especially if they have a partner who doesn't know about it?
And as already observed by one of the public health guys, some people testing positive have more than 50 close contacts in the previous 14 days.
Are you suggesting we should all have ear tags? Unfortunately we are relying on common sense and personal responsibility, both sadly lacking in large swathes of the population. Hence the need for movement restrictions. |

Fact. The justice system in general here needs a MAJOR overhaul. Its thought that 10 people a year on average are murdered in Ireland by people out on bail. Like that poor Swiss student in Galway years ago. I think he had something like 80 plus previous convictions. And was actually out on bail at the time for another attack only a few weeks before. The way they run concurrent sentences here too is a joke. |

"Will dublin airport be closing?
Surely tourists etc are not deemed essential travel!
My thoughts exactly and also ferry port no political will there lol "
There is actually very little evidence of cases being tracked back to travel in or outbound.
I was very much of the mind to close the ports fully at the start of this.
But if you actually think about when you go on holidays how many close contacts do you end up having taking into account measures taken but pubs and other tourist activities |

I figure it's better to go into lockdown now than wait too long and end up being back in lockdown at Christmas, when suicide rates are already sky high and the bleak weather makes everyone miserable. I'd far rather the government were proactive and over-cautious than the opposite. |

"It's not the Dublin people who are packing the refugees into hotels and centres 6 and 8 to a room .or paying workers in meat factories disgraceful wages within sick pay so if the dont go to work sick or not . They starve . To me that is greed . "
Cheap labour equals cheap end produce which is what most consumers demand, no diff to Chinese factories paying cheap wages in poor conditions so we can buy their products on wish for pittance. But thats only partially addressing the issue, the simple fact is a lot of people are not adhering to the guidance and so cv19 is spreading. Dublin is more affected because of population size and density but its a nationwide problem |

It,s the Government taking our rights away. And who would ever thought we would have ever seen far right racist neo nazis bring their poison on to our street in 2020.Them again some people are still trying to set up and have carrying on " swing like there is nothing in the world to worry about . Some people are plain stupid, the aids out break was wee bun compare to C19 . .So please stay protect yourselves and those around . |

If the country goes on the way it was I’ve no doubt that we won’t see the problem stopped till a high ranked member of government dies from it as it seems to just be the working class that have experienced the backlash from this epidemic we’re in now !!!!!! Sad time guys just be hopeful that we are still fit an healthy now
Enlighten me how you think it’s crap because it’s time so people start to open there mouth about what they see instead of what they hear
Well that's the greatest crock of shit I've ever heard. "

"From tomorrow I think they'll close everything in Dublin for a couple of weeks...to be honest I've no sympathy for the pub owners
Everyone I know including my own family have been in pubs since tge reopen with no time limit
Lockdown is also coming for Waterford...big outbreak in Dawn meats about to be announced "
these covid outbreaks are in work places not in the pubs..there is no social distance in the work places.. |
