Has anyone had the joy of a friend asking you, "Are you on a swinger site?" Someone on FAB recognised me (in the real world) and decided to ask my friend about me? Not only that, but they asked fairly personal info... sexuality, marital status etc AND gave my friend my username!!!

Is there any sanction that the site admins can take?

If I were to find out what their username is, I assume I can't publicly warn others about their gross indiscretion?

I now know that publicly naming this guy is not allowed. So that's grand.

Very bad form...is it a problem that your friend knows or the fact someone gave out your information

Do you know the person that gave out the info

It's not a problem, really. My friend and I have fairly open conversations and he knows what I'm like. It's not embarrassing for me. I'm just more annoyed with the total lack of discretion.

Why not get the persons name off the mate and go from there, as for getting the name around I'm sure it could be spread by word of mouth

Could do, but it's not worth it. Besides, while this will be discussed now, it'll be forgotten about in under a day. I'm really not that important or a long-time member of the site.

100%

If I met anyone in the street, and I recognised you from the site, I'd completely blank you (especially if you were in company) Otherwise, you'd get a nodded, 'Hello,' as we passed.

We're all equally as important as each other and never think otherwise.

When I started I used to think the same but after a few weeks it turns into an episode of cheers

This is very difficult for admin to take action on even if the DO know the username. Peoole can do fictional reports being vindictive sometimes... and accusing someone of acting a particular way OFF the site is just isn't proveable. Do report though as there might be other previous reports that have a cumulative effect.. or other future actions that are reported.

Tbh, I wouldn't trust anyone spreading stories about other named users. Way too many vindictive and/or gossipy types here.

It happened me last year, a lady on here told her friend that I was on here, we had only met twice. Hence no profile pic.

The only way people can recognise you is if you allow yourself to be recognised. People should always take precautions

Theres nothing the site can do. People are discreet or they aren't I think. It's why I dont share personal info or face pics until I have built up some level of trust with people.

I know if I came across someone I know on here I'd just block and move on and forget I saw them.
