It's hard to believe that my local dog park has rules that exclude my dog because of his breed yet in the park beside it he's been attacked by little yappy dogs on their way to the dog park. Should dog parks not be for every dog ? |

They should but sadly the 'dangerous breed act' has excluded some breeds from dog parks etc.. I always found it was smaller dogs were more likely to bite and attack then the bigger ones.
The problem mostly lies with owners tho than with the dogs no matter what breed they are. If someone cannot control their dog they shouldn't have one out in public and in fact probably shouldn't have one at all.
Nice to see a different dogging post tho |

My dog (bull terrier) is never off the lead but has been bitten twice on the face by little Yorkie type dogs off the lead and all the owners say is sorry about that which gets on my nerves because if my dog bites back he'd get out down. The only time a bigger dog has went for my dog was a Rotty off the lead but it ended up with my dog pinning it down and trying to skull fuck it and me trying to pull them apart while the other owner screamed |

Well the dog park is an enclosed space where dogs can be off the lead and because my dog is deaf is never off the lead in the normal park because I can't really call him back if he goes after a squirrel etc so the dog park would allow him time off the lead frolicking |

Every local authority has it's own bylaws regarding dog control. I think you'll find most if not all require any dog to be on a lead at all times in a public park/place enclosed or not. Still loads of people seem oblivious to this and let there dogs run free in the park I go to...if your not sure check your local authorities bylaws |

My local park has an internal dog park as has a few others.
The dogs can be taken off their lead and run around and sniff arses to their hearts content while behind a fence to stop them running around everywhere else |
