Since this is something that affects me personally I'd like people's opinions on it
Do you need to have your few drinks during a gig
Would you go to 3Arena
or any smaLl venues to see a gig without the few drinks during the gig
Is alcohol just as much a part of the experience
Would you give up the alcohol to enjoy the live music again

Im biased because i dont drink anyway but i dont see a problem with having them alcohol free anyway. Not an avid concert goer but i really wanted to see wardruna and was hopong rammestein were going to have a dublin gig so i hope theyre back up and running soon |

Same as above, not a massive drinker and have gone to plenty of concerts and comedy gigs and had a great time without drink as much as when i have been drinking..  |

Up until a few years ago I would have said yeah drinking is part of it but while I still enjoy a beer or a Guinness from time to time, it's been about 2 years since I've been d*unk. I just don't like that d*unk feeling anymore so alcohol is not necessary for me to enjoy an event these days.
However I would prefer the option to have a drink at an event rather than just not being allowed to.

I don't think you need to necessarily be big drinkers to recognise that having a drink can be part of enjoying a social event. Been to matches, gigs and concerts where i didnt drink for one reason or another but it was my choice.
I would like to have the choice and not have that decided for me. As such a non alcoholic gig wouldn't appeal to me as much. |

It wouldn't bother me at all . All I'd love is to just hear music live again. That is something I really miss. |

I dont think having a drink at a concert is in The United Nations universal declaration of human rights funny enough
I'm more worried about the thousands of people working in music venues across Ireland of which I'm one
Im ok as I work full time but its not a case of I'm alright Jack its a case of what options will work
Today 70,000 people should be leaving Electric Picnic
But we know it was cancelled
Every big concert into the future is not going ahead due to insurance issues
Maybe no bars is the answer I dont know but give me a break ...pints are not a human right |

Well them thousands people without job don't have human rights for work...it's not all about pints, btw recently been on two festivals in one EU country and guess what, everything is fine and we are still alive |

Completely missing the point but whatever
The government have announced they might allow gigs if no alcohol is sold
If a band you wanted to see were playing 3Arena and 10,000 were allowed go without drink...would you go
I'm not arguing the masks,or numbers safely in the building. |

Why i am missing the point? I said in some countries people having fun on gigs without such a drama...and yeah i would go on alcohol free gig if that's the only option...nobody said it have to be drug free is it?  |

Apart from the drugs everyone would be trying to smuggle in their favorite booze in their ingenious ways that they think are unique and that we've never caught before  |

It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if there was no booze if its there fair enough il have a couple of pints if not a couple cans of coca cola and directions to the nearest bathroom and that will do |

Dont usually drink when going to gigs so wouldnt bother me. Probably make it more enjoyable for me to have no alcohol at venue. On the other hand the likes of EP and others like it make a hell of a lot of money from alcohol sales, therefore providing lots of casual employment . I wonder will the price of tickets to concerts go up much if theres no revenue from alcohol?? |

Definitely and sold out gigs don't necessarily mean the venue make a profit on a gig ....it's the shops and bars that get the profit in for the venue.
Some sold out gigs dont allow alcohol to be sold in the venue at all under instructions by the artist |

Would not make any difference to me. Spent a lot of time at no booze gigs when I was younger and I don't drink anymore so not really bothered. Go to a gig for the music not the booze |

Tbh that's the problem with alcohol its associated with all social events they even sell it in the cinema, it's so easy to develop a problem and "waste money" I think soft drinks should be cheaper and encouraged more |

I'm the type of person who doesn't need drink but I'll admit I absolutely love my few pints when I can but when it comes to a gig I'd have 2 or 3 max(If even somtimes I wouldn't bother) cause I want to enjoy it as much as I can! Now days ticket prices are pretty extortion. |

Wouldn't bother us in the slightest...in fact a cpl of gigs were less enjoyable because ppl kept going to the bar during the music and most seemed to be in our row...same with the rugby |

In principle I'd go to a dry gig. During COVID, it would depend on the venue & artist, whether there's alcohol on sale or not wouldn't be much of a consideration.
I reckon a lot of venues would struggle to cover operating costs without booze sales and with reduced numbers they will already be struggling to cover overheads. I think it would put stress on venues to open & operate at a loss.
I'm also not convinced it would mean people keep their heads & maintain social distancing (which I'm assuming is the point). I'd envisage a lot of people drinking prior & being pissed anyway. Plenty of people can't seem to manage it sober in small groups, let alone big crowds. |

No. I think they should serve alcohol as it encourages socialising. If people want to drink, let them drink. If they don't want to, let them do that too. |

I don't drink so it wouldn't bother me one bit ...really miss the music scene so anything that would help get the Music machine moving again has to be welcomed..it has been the hardest hit industry of the whole lot in this Covid 19 craic . |

I very rarely drink and when I do it's usually only a couple, 2 and I'm feeling it these days. The last gig I went to I did have a couple of drinks but I've been to gigs before that I stayed sober at. I think people maybe associate music and dancing on a night out with like a bar or a club and thus drinks become part of the mix, but not all the time and not for everyone. It's nice to actually remember the whole night out, there have been more than one occasion over the years where I cant remember the night at all which is really crap and definitely not worth getting d*unk when that happens. |

I rarely drink, I would happily never drink again. I never get the urge to but I can be very shy so at weddings or....a gig especially in this country I'd have one or two simply because everyone around me is pissed faced and I feel anxious. I went to gigs before with a partner that also rarely drank and we didn't drink at them at all so if alcohol was banned at them I'd go to double the gigs |

The types of gigs I went to frequently were ones held in small venues or bars and I would typically drink during them. I'm not sure I would enjoy those ones the same without alcohol.
But for a big gig at the 3 arena or similar I would never drink, not only because it was too expensive but because I didn't want to walk to the bar frequently haha

My favorite type of customer...the amount of hassle because people go to the bar get their 4 pints for €28 and spend the rest of the gig going in and out for a piss |

Personally, obviously, I recall too many gigs as a younger guy, where I drank too much and couldn't remember the gig 
Nowadays I would only have a few at a gig, as I'm there to see my favourite bands playing and want to remember it.
I'd have no problem going to a fizzy water only gig.
I'm there for the music live experience, nothing else |
