the airline prices are very low, so would you go on a hiday outside Ireland.

Health workers are advised ( being told) to only hiday in ireland, even geeen list countries are not advised as they can quickly go from green to red.

Many employers will not pay you for the 14 days isolation should you travel outside Ireland.

So apart from possible health issues should you go, does cheap travel make going outside of ireland worth it

No. Trip to Spain at Easter was cancelled and rebooked for end of September. Cancelled that too and lucky that the travel company agreed to a full refund.

The good people of Donegal will now benefit from my presence

I was talking to friends about this yesterday. For personal reasons I wouldn't go but I'm honestly wondering why not.

It seems you have as much of a chance of contracting the virus in Dublin as you do abroad so once you take the correct precautions and self isolate on your return why not. Only 2% of cases are from travelling abroad.

But you are paying for a 2 week holiday and it's costing you 4 as most employers don't look kindly on the 2 weeks quarantine when you return.

Unemployment levels are about to go off the scale when furlough ends in October so many are already fighting to keep their jobs.

Personally I would go tommorow if I could, but as other's have said I would have to quarantine for a further 2 week's for work so it would not be worth it

This, although I may have to go by December/January if the winter makes my SAD intolerable.. I could do some work from home and take some unpaid leave for the two week quarantine

20000 new cases in Spain since Friday alone. I think travel should just be paused for 4-6 weeks, it’s the uncertainty that is the worst. Europe should get act together, shut down travel and then at least we can start to think about going on hols in winter or next spring.

Our hotel has closed.

But as of yet flights still going ahead next week. Hopefully the cancel as we can't be doing 14 days on return.

And this is why I personally wouldn't go but there are people that don't work or have plenty annual to take. Whether your employer looks kindly on it or not, as long as you are following the guidelines they can't really say much.

If you don't mind me asking..

Did you go to a country on the green list

Did you tell people you work with and what was their reaction

Civil servants were told to isolate for 14 days on no pay if they went away
