So following on from the exciting news about the fab movie in the pipeline it raises the question of the overuse of CGI.
This problem arises here in the world of fab also with many profiles using images that have been photoshopped to such an extent that they look unearthly and more like a mannequin.
As many including myself have said before profiles are shop windows and an attractive window display will encourage more footfall than a half arsed attempt.
However there has to be consistency between the shop window and the contents.
No point in having an award winning display if prospective customers are horrified to find the shop full of rusty tools or mouldy bread or fashion items from a couple of generations ago.
This must be classed as misleading and false advertising.
We all like to look our best so there's nothing wrong with a good angle or improving the lighting but can anyone genuinely say they are attracted to a walking talking cartoon? Jessica Rabbit and co are alive and well on fab but what is the point of this approach if they are unrecognisable on a meet?
Do they really expect repeat business from disillusioned visitors to their shop? |

Like the other commenters here. I was totally prepared to chat about my favourite cartoons haha
But I totally agree with you OP. Everyone wants to look their best but there is no point in putting up pictures that are so heavily edited. It just leads to heightened expectations and inevitable disappointment in my opinion. |

"The heading is false advertising . Where my cartoons
In your search box and who's near. "
Who’s near is full of disappointment the search box on the other hand is like Narnia, full of magic, beautiful creatures |

If anyone is good with the CGI I'd appreciate if you could change a few things on my picture to make me more attractive to the ladies
Face... Tom Hardy instead of ....Oliver Hardy
Body....Daniel Craig instead of...Daniel O Donnell
Thanks |

why bother will all the photoshopping because if you're serious about meeting someone here they are definitely going to be surprised and I hate to say it possibly disappointed that you don't even bare any resemblance to your fab profile photos. |

It must work for some but usually the photoshopped pics are so easy to spot. Mine are just good angles and colour filters I don't see the point in photoshopping when someone meets me they will know ot anyhow if I did.
On a cartoon side I used to love watching the roadrunner and Pepe le Pew |

"two reasons i dont photoshop.
A, i cant be arsed because i am who i am and if you dont like it then move on
B, i actually have no idea how the app thingys work and i cant be bothered learning"
You should get the ones where you can superimpose different paint colours onto walls to help choose what colour to pick |

I do a fair bit of editing on some of ours (photography and post-capture editing is a wee hobby of mine - before anyone judges the quality of our photos my main interest is photography of landscapes & decay and ruin, not people). I don't change us though. It's mostly lighting, shadows and highlights, layers and blend modes, and a bit of judicious blurring. There's no point trying to disguise the magnitude of my arse |

I dont like to photoshop myself in pictures either, I think its cheating.
I PhotoShop the Sky Remote instead to make it look smaller in comparison!
Much easier to scissor and feather edges also. |
