"White noise machine"

If you have a smart speaker you can ask it to play white noise also

Best thing to do is lie down, eyes open and try to stay awake by just thinking of random generic things like for example, "make a list of all the super powers you'd like to have", sounds stupid I know but I got the idea from Saving Private Ryan.

You know when you're trying to stay awake when you're tired and in not much time at all you'll fall asleep. So if you get in that mind set of stop trying to go asleep and try to stay awake, you soon feel yourself slipping off, so much so you try and stay awake forgetting you were trying to go asleep in the first place, ha. It's just a way of tricking your mind I think

Best investment I have ever made to alleviate being unable to sleep during humid nights is buying a Dyson fan years ago. They’re not cheap but they actually blow out cold air as opposed to your normal fan which simply blows hot air around.

All to do with physics apparently

Sit it on your bed’s side locker, set the timer on the remote control in 30 minute increments and next thing you know, you’ll be waking up at breakfast time.

Note: If you don’t have a side locker , that’s a further expense you’ll have to consider
