I wonder should ireland and the UK be treated differently on here considering the lockdown rules are different in both countries i.e. gatherings up to 50 indoors are allowed in ireland surely someone shouldn't get punished if they are following the guidelines inthe country that they are based in

100 percent agree with you on this

Agreed if you are speaking in terms of main land uk. But we share this island unfortunately.

I think an all island approach where the restrictions and limitations are the same would be better for Ireland

While I agree it would be far better but unfortunately it is not so we have to go with the rules as is

We have been given a greenlist of countries people can travel too. At the same time we have flights coming in from more countries than on that list. Makes no sense

There is only 1 set of rules.. they don't vary by country. This site is UK owned, run, and hosted, so it makes sense for those rules to be based on UK law. Keeping track of corvid19 changes in every country it operates would be impossible

All that would happen is there would be an avalanche of people from UK post threads here(in Irish forums) looking for meets. Fab is a UK based site and they have set the rules for their site I'm sure if you don't like it you can go to other sites

It would make sense like let's be honest it's going to be a long time before the UK cops on and lowers their case/death rate which will mean fab won't be getting the green light to allow people to meet despite making much better progress in other places

It's simple to click to give you a warning or a ban however if they just took a second to check your location then it solves that issue!!! People are getting accounts taken off them for no reason at all

That presumes that admin knows all the different rules in all the different countries it operates.

Well the admins are human beings too so you would think they would know the rules of other countries unless they don't read the news and believe the UK is the only country in the world lol

They are running a site and generalising.... It's their duty to know if they are making decisions about their members actions.

I think the mods have to abide by the site rules. They are just unpaid community voulenteers. They don't make rules.

There are no different rules for different countries as far as admin are concerned. There is only the rules that it's their job to enforce, that's the fab rules.

"Just a quick update on this.

If you are following the local Covid-19 guidance in your country/locality (as some rules are very location specific), as per our post above, that is OK. This continues to be the case as governments update their guidelines. If you are choosing to meet in a way that follows the guidance at that time, there is no problem.

Good find that changes everything. According to that we should have rule flexibility to local guidelines. I'm gonna mail that admin and ask

i didnt see this post but to be honest it makes sense that so long as people are following local guidance then they should not be punished and perhaps an admin from each location should be sought to help with local information

PS I keep having to explain this at the moment which seems a surprise but will again. I don't make the rules, Admin do. If you don't like those rules you need to send your feedback to Admin from the contact button.

To clarify, as long as you stick to the rules of your part of the Country then you will within the law and the site rules

It seems this is about a disabled profile. It is not worth anyone but the person themselves contacting Admin from the contact button if they want it reviewed
