Indeed. He ploughed a lonely furrow for quite a while. In the middle of many death threats from all sides he never lost sight of peace.

Met him myself once, when I was a gossin, up in Tyrone.

Lovely guy and one of the rare people I ever saw who was a politician without ever appearing like a politician. I guess because peace was his raison d'etre, that might have been something to do with it.

Not likely to see his like too often but, when we do, it's reason to vote.

Fingers crossed it won't be in the distant future.

Sorry, I'm waxing lyrical again.
