My brother went for an open audition for a role in the commitments way back when. He said there was about 500 teenagers all going for the same part. Alan Parker came out to meet them , and spent ages just chatting and having the craic with them. My bro never got the part but always said that just by coming over and saying hello to him and his mates was just really classy of the man. He didn’t have to , but wanted to. Great director, and a really decent man by all accounts. Angel Heart is up there as one of my favorites.
