It's a scam that's been going on for a couple of years. Probably threatening you by saying they have your on your webcam etc etc. It's completely fake

Yeah it's fake, happened to us while away on holidays and we thought someone hacked my device through our apartment WiFi. Panicked a bit and deleted our fab account first thing then worried for the rest of the holiday that a screenshot of my device would be shared. Never considered paying them.

There is a free service from haveibeenpwned that will alert you if your email address shows up on the darkweb through a website breach. They have a sister site for password checkers if they ever showed up on a site and have a massive password dictionary that hackers would use that helps you avoid easy passwords.

As has been said before it's alla load of bollocks. Your details have been discovered from a previous breach of one of any number of websites. Either change your passwords to passphrases (the cat sat on the mat) or complicated passwords of usually a minimum of 12 characters, manage these by using a password manager for ease.

It’s a scam, Jim Browning on YouTube has a good video about it. I found my data was breached on one app and I checked that on haveIBeenPwned
