I love wines paired with a meal at a fine dining restaurant, dont drink wine usually out side of restaurants.
Wish I was more knowledgeable as some wines I've had at friends house I've had before where awful.
Any you would reccomend to try? |

I'm very far from knowledgeable, almost totally ignorant in fact, but one thing I've noticed is that the notion of red wine wish cheese is rubbish. Nothing more excitingly contrasting than a rich creamy cheese with a crisp sharp white wine or sparkling white. But that's hardly advice! |

I am currently enjoying a bottle of Gran Coronas cabernet sauvignon. Picked it up in the supermarket when I was getting a few cigars. Pleasantly surprised with it for only €15. That said our normal bottle is rare malbec which is very nice to drink. Like most a good French red is pretty hard to beat though. |

Did a tour of Medoc and St.Emillion/Pomerol a good while ago. Love a full bodied aged Bordeaux like a St. Estelle, St. Julien or Margaux. On a budget I’d drink Cotes de Blaye or Cotes de Bourg (northern banks of the Gironde) |

Currently enjoying a nice red, costers del prior 2017. It’s beautifully structured wine full of ripe fresh fruit with fresh acidity.
Impressed? Don’t be, I googled that shit. I’m drinking it because it’s been sitting in the cupboard for 2 months and I was too lazy to drag my hairy ass around to the off licence.
