"Anyone else heart broken about the Cork Jazz Festival being cancelled? Probably one of the biggest and best weekend of the year. "
It's my favourite weekend of the year in Cork. A real shame it won't happen this year and will be a big loss. Don't think there was any other choice in the circumstances though. |

"It will be a big loss to the city. But I must admit when I lived there I always went away for that weekend. Jazz isn't my thing. "
I must admit I do like jazz. More the big band / brass band kinda stuff than some guy doing long trumpet solos!
They've made a big effort to bring more variety in recent years and there's lots of music on the streets etc. Usually a really nice buzz for the weekend.
Hopefully it can return next year. |

Ye I hope it goes ahead next year its a massive festival for Cork would be a real pity for it to be cancelled two years in a row. |

It’s a bank holiday weekend and the pubs are open so I think we’ll still get to “entertain” ourselves down here
It will be back loud and noisy next year no worries, it’s to much of a money spinner for it not to be |

I'm the same I don't like jazz but I just love the atmosphere when it's on and the hussle around the streets! I guess we will have to wait another year |

More gutted that the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival was cancelled but delighted they had a streaming event.
Maybe Cork will do similar?
NOLA was more than jazz, with Pearl Jam, No Doubt, Hozier, Ed Sheeran, etc playing.
Not sure if Cork is similar. |

Same kinda idea but Cork wouldn't be as big as that.. Fecking be epic if they got them afts but they support local bands and one or two big enough Irish names that's about it |

Apart from going in for a hour on the Saturday or Sunday, it wasnt my bag...pubs were heaving...people getting sick on the streets...or falling asleep at a bus stop while cuddling a kebab..the atmosphere is pretty awesome there though. |

Anything served out at 2 in the morning should be treated with scepticism |
