hey all, were just wondering... when you look at someone's profile and it says they are like 30, 40, 50 miles away on their mobile... how accurate is that ?

"You couls check out the whos near me feature on home page."

Yeah we did that... some profiles say they're within 10 miles and then when you click into the profile it says within 10 miles and then directly under that it says "right now on their mobile 30 miles away" lol

Think it depends on there location of where they are at the time.. I could be wrong but phone GPS maps do that

Youghal

There must be a glitch in the matrix at times because we had someone message us asking what we were doing in Galway as we were only a mile away from him....at the time our arses were firmly planted on our sofa in Cork.

East / North, Cork

It's *usually* accurate... But accurate to where the phone(s) belonging to the profile are at that exact second. Someone might be out shopping, or working, or visiting someone.. or they might have a defective GPS. It's even possible to fake a GPS position using an app.

Many many people have both mobile phones, and cars

They can travel about.

I've found it to be fairly accurate, obviously not pinpoint accurate but accurate enough to be within a mile or so

Your exact location is never shown. We only give approximate distances e.g. "2 miles away"

somewhere

Ive recognised 2 people on here that live within 500m of my home

The app says 4 min walk so its fairly accurate I suppose

South Side.

My phone believes it's in Dublin, and the 'who's near me' doesnt seem to work, even when i switch on my location.
