Personally think it will be the last place to open if they do at all! Not sure how the cleaning/disinfecting will work do!

Commercial gyms due to open on July 20th. I'd say increased disinfecting, smaller class sizes, no showers, limited time etc etc will be the norm - Mrs

Most people were pretty disgusting at wiping down equipment to start off, at best, a quick swipe with their towel.

Hopefully when they open up, the habit of properly disinfecting and wiping down equipment will be instilled.

Ours is reopening the 20th of July. I always wiped down benches etc before and after using them because some people were atrocious for not wiping down after they finished. Looking forward to getting back

Gemma got a message from Ben Dunne, its going to be at least September before it reopens, they appear to be trialing one in Blanchardstown first to see how it goes.

Anyway, Gyms are people who are shit at sports....

What's it going to be like on July 20th tho?

Surely a lot of people will want to get back in and start getting fit again. Myself included. But won't there be a limit to how many can enter.

I expect a que outside. As one person leaves the gym another can enter. I'm the type who trains on their break too.

Forget the gyms, get the schools opened. Kids need educated. Use all these empty halls and theatres to teach the children.

Ahh thanks.

GFH is adviable also in future, imagine all the droplets flying and aerosols hanging in the air with people working out in a closed room...

lot of places told me it would july before they are restocked. We got lucky with some local lads and got the rack, weights and bench and that was sheer luck because they were getting a delivery within a matter of days. All dumbbells and that are gone. gold dust

Depends on what a person uses the gym for.

For someone like me I train not only to be fit but build muscle and sadly those park machines cannot allow for that.

Sucks.

I was looking on adverts.ie and they are well over-priced too. Guess I just have to keep a look out.

It was. Alot of restrictions. Doesnt really bother me. Just want to get in, do my cardio, weights then leave. I only live 5mins from there so can shower at home anyway. Seems ages away though.

So many healthier and interesting ways to keep fit than going to the gym. A den for infection at the best of times.

For you maybe. Some of us quite enjoy lifting weights and the gym scene. As for being a den of infection i dunno what places you have been to but our one was always fairly clean and we have gotten more "infections" from the kids coming home from school than the gym
