Normally I'd say the bear, but if the gorilla is allowed to use weapons then I'll take the gorilla. Apparently they are fantastic with a musket lol actually no, I was thinking more rocks and large sticks. Whack a bear round the side of the head with a rock and its gonna feel it lol |

Seeing as you are picking the apex ape then you'd have to go for an apex bear (grizzly) in that case the bear would absolutely destroy the gorilla it wouldn't even be a fight it would be a slaughter |

A bear outweighs a gorilla is bigger and is a bona-fide killer. It also has a ton of insulation. Razor sharp teeth and basically knives for claws. A gorilla is a sedentary creature that actively avoids conflict. It prob has the strength advantage but that's about it.
Tl dr
Bear all day long assuming it's a black brown or polar. |
