So the cops say they won't be bringing charges against anyone who breaks the 20km travel restrictions. Effectively we can go anywhere.. social distancing coffee...are we coming out of all this at last? |

So when you're neighbours have a full house partying all night and ye have to get up for work ye won't be ringing them to sort it out cos people have the right to travel where they want |

Full house partying throughout the night and travelling across the country are two different things. |

You can still call the cops I guess, excessive partying isn't on the cards yet. |

Was thinking more in fab terms as regards coffee meets...and even then it wouldn't be to the four corners of the country. Think parties and socials are a bit away yet. |

I was under the impression that the restrictions were guidelines and that the Guards only had the authority to disperse people in groups or tell people who are traveling to go back.
I didn't think they could prosecute.
Anyhow, good to see the place opening up again. |

They did have the authority, only temporarily under emergency legislation introduced in March, but the approach was meant to be encouragement as opposed to enforcement. |

"It's a joke anyway.. they barely have the manpower to do normal duties "
The real joke is that the guards near us were the ones having the house party in the middle of lockdown before any easing of restrictions.

"Think all the emergency legislation expires at the end of June anyways as a new government would be required to extend it and that doesn’t look likely any time soon."
Jesus yeah, you'd almost forget that the government still needs to sort itself out. |
