People that explicitly write on their profiles that people of X ethnicity need not contact them and so on. What’s up with that?

Black lives matter, yellow lives matter, white lives matter all lives matter.

Live and let love.

Not racist at all is just sexual preference.

For me (Miz) I'm not attracted to alot of people of all skin colours .

Same way I'm not attracted to people of certain body shapes or ages.

Everyone has their own preferences, and having it stated on your profile weds out all of the people you are not attracted to that way your time and their time isnt wasted

See this topic spring up all the time on the english forums. Its a preference. If people have something in their profile that you dont like, block and move on. Fab is big enough and varied enough for people to find what they are looking for in play partners. Of course all lives matter but people arent under obligation to fuck you regardless

Want to know what I've realised so far in life?

Racism, at times, can be bollocks. There is a lot of hypocrisy to it.

You can have some hardcore racist who hates black people - hates them.

But he'd have zero issue riding a fine black woman. Racism is often confined to that of the same gender.

Need further proof? Let's go back a few hundred years ago to the black slaves in America. They were treated like scum forced into slavery work on plantation farms.

However many of the "masters" had no issue having sex with the women.

Terrible isn't it?

Then again if you are dealing with a mind who automatically hates someone because of their race then you cannot be shocked they'd be a hypocrite to boot.

Racism is not right to any but racism is also a word used too often and for anything. It should be used carefully in my opinion.

In the case outlined there it is a preference.

I am French. I don't call the gardai every time I hear "Excuse" my French.

Some areas of the country you could get an egg on your head and insulted in same time...

Here f..k... boldy, red, cu.t, French, etc... it is not racist either, they are just idiots. Going to the gardai for it and they will laugh at you. (It is not right but you should know where not to go).

Some area of Paris, if you look a bit pale, don't go there either...

It is a word used to often in my opinion and so it is dangerous for this to become too common and so forgotten.

Ireland definitely has a problem with racism.. particularly in rural Ireland. Its not that people are nasty, it's mostly that they might not have much experience people from other places much, and so are worried of the unknown. Change takes time. In the 10+ years I'm here on fab I have seen very little racism here though. I would like to think swingers are more open minded than the country as a whole. Its a UK site and the UK are more used to multiculturalism than we are here so the culture here is quite inclusive.

It looks like you are a bit racist towards rural people. I lived in rural Ireland all my life and I only met one truly racist man. He was born and raised in a small farm at the foot of a mountain and just about finished school. He was in school with my father. He went to America for work and was only there a month when he was conscripted to fight in Vietnam and progressed to the rank of captain. What ever he experienced there made him a true racist. He would burn black babies in a barrel for you. That level of hatred is unknown in this country. If someone says anything a bit stupid here they are a racist and stupidity is confused with racism everyday now.

I dated several really nice laid back and easy-going black women when based in the UK many years ago, and never had any issues whatsoever. Some of them had arrived from the West Indies ie Trinidad and Jamaica, while others were born and reared in the UK.

I've also met a few nice enough Nigerian, South African, and Zimbabwean women and I just couldn't warm to them, ie they just weren't my cup of tea, there was too much of a cultural difference.

There are lots of White Afrikaners arriving here since Nelson Mandela died and Jacob Zuma's government began expropriation of the white farmers lands. Most Afrikaners are deeply racist, solely because their friends and families have been brutally murdered by black Africans...

By that logic someone who is asexual is racist against all races including their own.

There are certain nationalities where the predominant stereotype I'm not attracted to.

I still think they should equal rights and access to anything I have . I don't think are inferior in terms of intelligence etc . To be quite honest. There is a lot of white people I'm not attracted to. As a tribal species it is not racist to say someone might be attracted to someone with a similar skin tone more than others.

Would ye all cop on!

There's a huge difference between preference and racism.

I like Creme Eggs but hate Caramel Eggs.

Guess what?

They both look exactly the same on the outside

If you put a mixture of them in a bowl, you could get either. Oh the horror!

Would I die from getting the caramel? I think not.

Would I have to admit to liking the chocolate part anyway? Probably.

There are things we like and don't like but there's elements of both we do like, despite our sometimes protestations to the contrary.

I want to say more but the words are not coming in correct manner, so I'll stop.

I don't want to fuck X skin colour is the most stupid statement ever. If you think the person of your dreams is defined by skin colour, you just funked up your chance of ever meeting them by a royal percentage, you gobshite!

Well obviously there are levels. You don't need to be into killing black babies to be racist. I live in small village rural Ireland the last few years. A lovely non Irish couple moved in fairly recently and I can't have a SINGLE conversation with my neighbours without them bringing up this non Irish couple and how terrible it is that they moved here. They are lovely hardworking people. But that doesn't matter. Sure noone is burning their child... but that's not the standard we should be aiming for. I can't see them lasting here. They are invited to nothing and shown no welcome or kindness. I'm just saying what I see.

If you have a sexual preference to a individual skin colour, its not racist, its a personal choice. If a lady stated she not into black men, cool, i respect her honesty. But i wouldn't call her racist.

Don't forget that horrible statement, no blacks, no Irish and no dogs. Now that's what i call racist.

To be honest, I can't imagine a preference to a particular hair colour that strong, that it automatically puts people with different hair colour out of the question. But when it comes to a skin colour, things are different out of sudden.

Personal choise is about individuals. I like this guy, but don't like that guy. Okay, noone has to like everyone. But if one has chosen to not like all people with a particular skin colour, that's the definition of racism.

Or is it?my opinion is it's not it's just preference

And someone mentioned that rural ireland has a racism problem...

In my short but rather colourful life,I've been lucky enough to have possibly worked in most of the cities in ireland and a lot of the towns, the racism I've seen in those places far outweighs what I've seen in the little village I'm from and the surrounding areas,

I’d agree with Apptopist on this one by its very definition discriminating to meet someone based purely by their race is racist; at the same time it’s also a preference and just because that happens to be someone’s preference it does not mean they are a racist or bad person!

I know loads of people that don’t even meet their own race. Just do a search in London and you’ll the the amount of white profiles that don’t want to meet other white profiles and publicly state it.

I guess I may not know what rural ireland is really like but I found Irish people to be very accommodating and I met some fantastic genuine people but hey that’s just my two pence piece!

I agree with what you're saying although I think you have to be careful not to exaggerate "personal preference" with "not liking someone".

Many people who say they dont like a particular skin colour, hair colour or people from a particular country when it comes to sex, tend to mean from experience they find less attraction to those people, physically. Very rarely would it mean they dislike the people on a personal level, and they are two very different things.

racism

NOUN

mass noun

1Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.

I don't think being attracted or not attracted to a particular race falls into that definition. If I am attracted to people with ginger hair am I discriminating against those without ginger hair? No, I am not, sexual preferance is not discrimination

And the world stood by and watched and nothing was even said. Racism and genocide is fine in some circumstances it seems. There were no riots across the world or international intervention etc. Innocent folks being murdered in the night just for owning a farm. We have a long way to go in the world before there’s fair treatment of anyone and there’s always going to be those who like to cry wolf and take advantage of a situation for their own purposes.

"I’d agree with Apptopist on this one by its very definition discriminating to meet someone based purely by their race is racist; at the same time it’s also a preference and just because that happens to be someone’s preference it does not mean they are a racist or bad person!

I know loads of people that don’t even meet their own race. Just do a search in London and you’ll the the amount of white profiles that don’t want to meet other white profiles and publicly state it.

I guess I may not know what rural ireland is really like but I found Irish people to be very accommodating and I met some fantastic genuine people but hey that’s just my two pence piece!

racism

NOUN

No, I am not, sexual preferance is not discrimination "

Interesting to see your take on it and we are all entitled to our own opinions there’s usually no right or wrong in these cases.

Racist (Adjective)

showing or feeling discrimination or prejudice against people of other races

When I read the same thing I kinda thought it did fall in that category

If you replace the word ‘attracted to’ and replace it with ‘x’ the majority of scenarios in my head come across discriminating

I.e. If I am ‘giving a job’ to people with ginger hair am I discriminating against those without ginger hair?

I think the unofficial term for discriminating against someone’s hair both positively and negatively is hairist

Not giving someone a job because of thier hair is definitely discrimination. But if I said I didn't want to sleep with someone because I didn't like thier hair, or their appearance in general would you say that was discrimination? Of course it isnt

I always like your analysis but here I think you cant compare giving someone a job to giving them your body, because they don't have any right to your body. That's the distinction that needs to be made.

E.g. If I choose, because I do not tend to find asian people attractive, not to have sex or make the effort sexually with them, I think that's very different to how I treat them in every other part of life where they deserve equality. It may be seen as a thin line but that's where I separate it.

No like you said I wouldn’t say that’s discrimination at all

But If it was purely based on colour race religion etc then I would.

Fair enough your not attracted to the person but to filter out an entire race and find them unattractive because of their colour for me stems from racism.

And again it does not mean the person is racist

I appreciate that and likewise respect your opinion.

It does not even have to be about giving somebody your body. I’m just talking about attraction here.

The same way we don’t have a right to someone else’s body is the same way we don’t realistically have a right to any job.

Yes I agree and I’m assuming you would treat them without equally. Yes you could tend to find asians unattractive in your experience but I hope that does not mean you think you will never come across an Asian that you do find attractive.

We love a good discussion

I think racism or discrimination is the denial of something that everyone should have the reasonable expectation having regardless of race. No one can demand that someone finds them sexually attractive. There are many Caucasian women on this site that state they will only meet black men, if we extend your logic we must also say they are racist when they patently are not

My point is, it can only be discrimination if it is something you can feel reasonably entitled to. If I'm renting out a house and I say you cannot rent my house be use you are black, that is discrimination because you have the reasonable entitlement to rent that house. But you do not have the reasonable entitlement for me to find you attractive. If I say I don't black people attractive that is a simple statement of fact and I have the right to that preference. If however I was to say I don't meet black people because they are untrustworthy, THAT is racist

I dont believe having a preference on who you wish to share your sexual organs with is racist.

In this regard we are all different and are attracted to different things.

It's a special moment and people choose partner/partners carefully.

There are boxes to be ticked, if a person doesn't tick them for whatever reason I dont believe it's racist.

Great discussion. I think the issue is difficult if you're not a mind reader.

A white couple saying they don't want to meet blacks is fine if they are not sexually attracted to black men, but it's racist if they are worried he is going to rob their house. The racist couple feels safe displaying their racism on their profile because they always have the 'preferences' excuse if this is challenged. Also it's fine for a fem to only find black men attractive.. but if the reason for this is they are turned in by the idea of somoene as low as a black man getting to fuck her.. then that's racist. You really do need to be a mind reader to be able to judge others in this area, because you don't know anyone's motivation for the things they are looking for. Definitely SOME people who display on their profile that they are excluding a particular race are racist... and others are not.

Also has anyone thought about the reason why a white female who is very strongly and explicitly ONLY wanting sex with black men, while the white cuck hubby watches... has this preference for black men as bulls, if she is clearly attracted to white men because she married one. For some couples this is really a D/s scenario and is about a power exchange between the culturally Dominant white male, and the submissive black slave.. where the power is changed to a sub cuck white man, and a powerful string black man with his massive BBC.

You need to be a mind reader to judge an individual. But you don't need to be one to judge a population. Just randomly pick a reasonably big number of profiles, count the ones that state a hair colour, height, weight, etc. as their preferences. Then count the ones that have a race preference. Compare the numbers.

We think discriminating against people that are different from you is a very natural human instinct that we all do, in big and/or small ways. But we also need to understand that it is wrong and try to identify the ways in which we do it. Refusal to consider the consequences of our actions or to try to learn about how we discriminate against other people is lazy and stubborn.

We would be very wary of people from the majority ethnicity who actively state on their profile that they would not meet any member of a minority race.

To say that you would never meet anyone of a certain race even if they were perfect for you in every single way except their skin colour is also very strange and they should probably think about why they feel that way.

Not really.. That wouldn't say anything about their motivation. You wouldn't know what percentage werent attracted to ginger hair, vs what percentage hate people with ginger hair. That's my point. In order to be racist then the reasoning needs to be known. Some people might take it clear from other things they do or say. Others are a bit cleverer about what they give away, or might deliberately misdirect. Tricky.

Same. We wouldnt meet anyone who descriminated by race on their profile. There are so many profiles to choose from that I wouldn't take the risk of meeting someone just in case they ended up being a racist scumbag. Plenty others to choose from.

Not exactly. You'll know the percentage of people not attracted to ginger hair and that of people not attracted to a particular race. If the numbers differ significantly, that is something not explained by people merely having their preferences.

Actually it's a bit more complex. You'll need to research positive preferences (I like smth), negative preferences (I don't like smth). You'll need to research many groups of preferences (age, weight, apperance,...). But this is not a forum about statistics. And I risk to bore everyone here if I start to explain it in details. Nobody likes nerds, lol.

But you got the idea

Kinda late to the party!

interesting points raised by you all and I agree with some aspects of all the points raised.

I’m leaning more towards _otwife85’s reply, for me they hit the nail on the head and articulated what I was trying to get at.

They biggest question is why you think that ?

It could be due to a lot of conscious or subconscious conditioning.

For instance somebody assumed my ancestors were slaves and I tried to explain the fact that my parents actually voluntarily migrated to the UK from Africa for education. That persons only depiction of black people was based off American TV whereby the majority of black individuals on the shows are slaves and impoverished and in playing roles of bad guys or they turn on the news and see black men being locked up because of the war on drugs’ so naturally as they did not know any blavk people they based it on the representations they had seen.

The treatment of black Americans, colonialism and corruptions and war in Africa obviously don’t help how some people unfortunately look at Black people but there was actually a time were a lot of kingdoms in Africa were very prosperous.

And I’m just using Africa as an example here because it’s just the history I’m closest to but same applies to every group.

Like hotwife said earlier it is a Natural human instinct to discriminate but we can all take the time to understand why we do what we do and think the way we think.

So a white person who only wants to meet black people is also a racist by your logic, think it’s down to preference not racism. If I don’t want to meet any of the gay men who have messaged, that’s not homophobic that’s my preference.

Now if the profile said people of 2 different races should be meeting that’s racist

Some people are attracted to certain races or not. It's not racist. Attraction is non negotiable with sex. The next step from that would be far and ugly people's sex lives matter...therefore if you don't have sex with someone you don't fancy you're a something-or-other-ist
