In some countries on the continent the clubs are going to open soon again but with certain covid-19 restrictions respectively safety management.
Here in Ireland from the 10th of August larger gatherings are possible again ('larger' has yet to be defined) so you might see social coming back in autumn.
Having said that I can't see how social distancing will work on those events especially when alcohol is involved. I wouldn't go near such event and I'd say a full on one on one meet is the lesser risk. |

Human nature will always prevail. Its in our nature to be sociable and meet, chat, touch, have sex. Bubonic plaque, cholera, TB, didnt stop us so neither will this flu. Dollymount strand in Dublin was packed yesterday, no observable social distancing. So, life will return to normal.. Whatever that normal is. The only risk to social organisers, would be in their legal obligation to provide a safe place to meet and socialise. |

Listen..35 years ago we were introduced to HIV and AIDS...people practically shut down on sex completely. I remember as a teenager you were afraid to even look at at girls ass in case you caught something. Covid is here to stay...a vaccine will be developed and we'll all learn to live with it. Socials and clubs will be back up and running...if there was a home test that gave results in a few minutes, people could test going into a club...give it time. |

Business man in Kerry has FDA approved tests which give results in 15 minutes. Emirates airlines been using them for a good while. Tried to get the government to use them but they never got back to him. Must be no money to be made for their buddies through these tests. Iv made medical devices in past that needed FDA approval and the FDA are strict so I believe them to work. |

Come it's not like this will be with us forever I'm sure social meets etc would resume as normal once the social distance thing fades yes it will require patience it's just the cards we have been dealt with is all altho I do agree to having some sort of cert to say your virus free i suppose it would be the same as carrying sti certs but the question is will how many gets that checked it will be the same scenario as getting Covid-19 checked people are just gunna simply go on about their lives as normal |

Don't think socials are done, just paused as mentioned. Only issue being is there are a huge amount of people that have been on meets all through and still daily are looking to meet. If they then attend a social it could be awkward. |

While everyone is looking forward to a return to social events (eventually), the thing to remember is that contact tracing will be a necessity even then. Would everyone attending be willing to agree to HSE contact tracing (should the need arise), or would the expectation of discretion override social responsibility? Aside from the practicalities of actually arranging events that conform to restrictions, allowing for social distancing protocols, etc., secondary issues like the possibility of external contact tracing, should the need arise, will also have to be considered. |
