So, only on here a little while. Have had some nice chats. Am particularly interested in couples, but haven't managed to get chatting to any. Doesn't help I'm not verified, but I'm sure it's that, and more.

So you can imagine my intrigue as I saw a new wink notification. Then saw it was from a couple. How nice! Click their username and I find their profile hidden. Gah!!

I'm not sure if it's ironic, schadenfreude, or just shit. That song Alanis Morisette, it's not reslly irony, is it. It's more one after another shit situation. Isn't it?

You can still wink back or message them, despite their profile being hidden.

As for the word, yeah ironic the one you're looking for, certainly not schadenfreude. Murphy's law or as the French call it 'la loi de la merde plus accumulée' only comes into play if you take it too seriously.

Thanks for your advice it's a confidence booster as sometimes trying to find like minded people for fun can be like finding a needle in a haystack

You will find that needle eventually. When things get back to normal, try a few meet and greets. Dont forget men outnumber ladies on fab by 50 to 1 or evdn more.

On reflection, I think Murphys law might be the one.

Murphy must have been one annoying little cunt, mustn't he? He is certainly due a few wedgies, in my book anyhow.

I don't think one can wink at someone with hidden profile. How does one do it, if their profile is hidden??!! This is not a philosophical or anthropology question. Just a UX one really.

Sorry. I stand corrected. U can indeed wink someone whose profile is hidden.

But that ssems desperate. Like, I've no friends on here (well 1 or 2 max), no verifications, seemingly no fab credibility at all if u judge the response rate to my customised, thoughtful, and often mildly amusing first messages...and yet, ask me to wink at someone i have no knowledge of, no access to, no connection with.....one has to maintain a certain element of pride and self respect.

On balance, I decided to wink back. I'm not even close to the realm of being desperate. But sure, u never know....

Thank you for the encouragement.

I shall persevere.

And ultimately i suppose I may end up clicking anyone's profile who happens to post on this thread.

After all, people who create threads are essentially screaming for attention. I guess I must be the same.
