Back in the day a man was living in digs and his landlady made him a cheese sandwich for lunch

When he got home he complained it wasn't enough so she made two the next day but he still wasn't satisfied.

She kept adding to it each day but he was never satisfied.

Finally on the Friday she cut a loaf in half, lashed on a pound of butter and a pound of cheese and off he went.

When he got home she asked how his lunch was?

"It was grand thanks but I see you're back to the two slices again!"

I can’t believe anyone would call the heels “crusts”. That makes no sense. None. The crust is the perimeter of the slice of bread, notably the top side that’s always darker and tastes well, crusty. Either end is the heel. QED

Ends or heel.

Batch bread heel, lightly toasted, buttered, then back in toaster until golden, then buttered again.

All slices have 'A crust'. The ends are THE crust. Heel makes no sense. How can you have two heels on one thing?

Batch heel, toasted on one side under the grill then buttered with Kerrygold! One soft fried egg! Cut heel in half, use first half to dip the egg yolk and put the rest of the egg on the 2nd half. Wash down with a mug if strong tea!!! That's bliss right there!!!!
