This might be a strange ask for assistance from someone not wet around the ears, well in age anyways..but its seen on plenty of profiles to make your first message good and stand out..like is it not natural instinct to say hello, how are things first? Doesnt seem to be wanted here, so makes difficult to build up a rapport..Or are we not in real world here? Any tips here on how you go about it, and get to 2nd or 3rd message and get a friendship going  |

Read the profile in full, no matter how long it is, if you think it's boring or see something you dont like then DON'T MESSAGE.
See what their likes & dislikes are, if they don't match your own likes & dislikes then DONT MESSAGE.
From their profile tailor your message around what they like (NEVER copy & paste your messages from one person to the next), try to show your humor/personality/laugh & joke in your first message as you might not get a second message.
Talk a bit about yourself (not a lot, just enough to intrigue them) in the first message.
For your message heading make it interesting & tailored to them from what you've read.

In the real world I don't get hundreds of men a day all saying "hey how are you?". The point is to stand out from the crowd. Even when women text me if it's a generic message I delete it. I take it as you didn't read my profile because I give enough information to make writing an interesting message easy. |

To hes honest I think there is a bit too much hype put into the "first message".
If you have a profile that's attractive to the other person then sometime whats in the first message is irrelevant.
Your main profile pic and bio are as important.
Saying that there is nothing worse than a 1 or two word message (it basically says I'm having a wank finish me off). If you can't think of something interesting to message after seeing their profile and have to force it its probably bet not to bother |
