I'll be honest and say I don't mail people on here anymore. Tired of getting no replies so I stopped.
Mainly look at the forums but I have noticed an increasing amount of people blocking me - clearly from something I said on the forums.
I'm sitting here scratching my head... Are people that petty?
Like, if you don't agree with someone just block away. Fair enough if I was talking about abortion or some serious topic. But nothing like that.
The funny thing is people who have blocked me often respond to me on forums. So what's the point?
Am I the idiot? Is this how people just are?
Is this website getting weirder and weirder?

Everyone has likes/dislikes take it woth a pinch of salt. I've been blocked for unknown reasons too but i really don't care, i know i'm not everyones cup of tea and i won't change for anyone.

I did a back-of-a-fag-packet calculation one time.
There were 30,000 people online (this was pre corona). In Ireland there were 50 women, 100 couples and 300+ men.
Now, 300+ could mean anything do I did a bit of maths.
The population of the island of Ireland is very approximately 10% of Britain so let's say there were 3,000 online total in Ireland. Then that would be
50 women
100 couples
2,850 men
So for each woman online there are approximately 57 men.
With those odds it's hardly surprising that women need to use some technique for thinning out their list of candidates, and many just block those they don't fancy given that they can just concentrate on the top 1-2% that they do fancy  |

Yes indeed, there are a lot of very toxic pretentious types on this forum. I only joined a few months ago, and I noticed a cliquey dynamic that involves a few delusional women, and a slew of their obsequious beta-male orbiters.
I've met a few really nice people on here, who no longer participate in the forum solely because of the antics of the aforementioned trolling minority.

I think people just block accounts they don’t like the look of which is fair enough when there are thousands of single males who don’t offer what most women/couples accounts want. I’ve started blocking accounts too, but it’s mainly gay guys fabbing my pics lol  |

Like I mentioned previously, there are a minority of totally toxic highly strung drama queens here who are easily triggered. It's a pity the form has been spoiled by a few mindless idiots. |

Op don't worry about who has blocked you it happens concentrate on those who haven't and who you have an interest in. People block for all sorts of reasons. At the end of the day it doesn't matter they are just strangers who you probably wouldn't have met anyhow.
At the moment thw forums aren't as much fun as they were. If it's lockdown or just people's real colours showing through who knows. But people seem determined to make constant gibes at others. And argue just for the sake of it. But better ignoring that as well. Just concentrate on those you want to interact with and don't worry about what others do.

usually of the opinion if someone is a dick on the forums that they usually are a dick in IRL so to save us and others time we just block. not going to lose an sleep over it |

Op if you feel aggrieved please refrain from asking that person why you were blocked on a public forum.
I innocently learned the hard way the first time I noticed I was blocked for no apparent reason...
48 hours on the naughty step 
At the time I thought that person was a dick anyway
What ever the reason for being blocked for forum reasons dont take it personally, you probably wouldnt get on face to face anyway |

Same here...I couldn't care less.
I see I'm blocked by people as there will and preference it is.
And I have blocked not to offend but I know I'm not compatible for them or me. |

Define irony.
In the first post I talked about how people block you on here for what you say on the forum. Yet several people who have, have replied back on this thread.

I've got no problem interacting on the forums with people who I've blocked or who have blocked me. The purpose of blocking for me has nothing to do with not wanting to debate in here. It's more as an additional filter when it comes to potential meets. |

It's funny how things can be twisted.
The reality is I clearly said something on the forums. Said users didn't agree. Which is cool.
But why not call a spade a spade. We owe nothing to each other.

We block people we have no interest in meeting, that has nothing to do with our right to reply to whomever we wish on this forum or anywhere else. I dont think irony means what you think it means |

I have seen people in the forums say something interesting and went to check them out, only to realise that I had them blocked and have no clue why. That's the good thing about blocking, you had a reason at one point, so then never think about it again. |

Honestly?
I don't care anymore. I have been given some good advice by members on here through direct message just there. They're right.
And further so, I randomly said we don't owe each other anything on here - that's very true.

Aye, I've noticed I've been blocked by people I never even had contact with. It does make you very curious about what specifically you may have said wrong. Thing is, they probably dont even remember at this stage either haha |
