I can't find the motivation.

Just the kitchen fridge. And not enough sexercise to balance.

But to stay on topic anything is better than nothing. If not doing as much cut back on calories as hard as that is.

Body weight exercises. Pull-ups, press ups, sit ups, Tri cep extensions, squats, lunges etc

Bands are great but I would say as accessory training for bar or dumbells.

I need to evaluate myself, to buy professional equipment to train home or just wait for gyms to reopen..

The other day I was pushing car as an exercise and my neighbours asked me if I need cables to start it

Were not going back to the gym so were getting in our own. No more waiting around for racks or benches. Pricey but worth it in the long run i think

I kind of like gym atmosphere, especially when you are preparing for competition and there is someone who can give you some advices.

Eleiko or Rough bar and plates are the one I would go for. That's why it's a bid deal for me.

We have our own thing built out the back where we have all the equipment. It actually makes things a lot easier for us than trying to find windows in our schedules for when we were able to get to the gym. Its different for everyone. I liked the gym but it was constantly busy especially the free weight area so it works better this way for us.

I work mon-fri 8 to 4. Have no kids and no commitments so that is why I am choosing gym. But maybe I will have to buy my own equipment because of what is going on.. If I could train with my partner(i am single) I probably would make a home gym.

Exercise bike, some great spin classes on you tube

Weights and a good old Davina McCall workout dvd, and power walks

I'm just trying to keep moving

And painting the hall stairs and landing has been a workout in itself

I’m using resistance bands and I can guarantee that they can replace dumbells! I have a TikTok with videos explaining how to perform a variety of exercises depending on the muscle that you want to hit! Let me know if you are interested and so I can share some videos with you!

According to a lots of research nothing can replace bar/dumbells (free weights) .

Machines are worse for progress then free weights

You can do something with bands but please don't say that free weights can be replaced by them, when you have no knowledge about it.

Unless you are on steroids and your body works totally different.

Agreed. If that was the case we wouldn’t have gyms just a lot of resistance band shops. I’m really struggling without the gym. Other than a pull up bar and medicine ball I haven’t got any equipment

I would say that you need to research a bit more

You can definitely replace dumbells using resistance bands and no, you don't need to be using steroids.

How would you replace a deadlift or bench press with resistance bands? Not having a go, genuinely curious how you replicate that and get the same movement and form achieving the same outcome whilst working the same muscles?

Are you joking? Why is it so hard to admit being wrong? For hypertrophy (this is process that bodybuilders and 99% of people that train and building strength there is nothing better than free weights. Machines and bands are good but only as an ACCESORIES. Resistance band is not real weight. Whatever you will say but even name will tell you that bands can only give you resistance so your body works totally different than with weights because adaptation is different as well.

So please explain me your point of view. I am really curious actually.

The point of this post isn't that so I will not continue this discussion here mate! There are thousands of articles that you can read on the internet using google. Anyway, the man was just asking what he can do it when working out from home, and so I said that he can use resistance bands. Cheers!

Basically that's w good questions you have asked him as well.

The worst is that he is going to say those things and correct people that actually are doing good.

Hahaha hahaha no man you stated that dumbells can be easily replaced by bands.

I wanted to show you that you are wrong, so you could learn something new. Not because I am big headed only because you were wrong with this statement.

Behind me is sport science, you have some articles. Send me them please anyway

You can loose weight without exercises. You just have to eat less kcal than your body needs for daily activities.

Calorie reduction/restriction works far better for weight loss and long term weight maintenance, you cant out-exercise a bad diet.

I think he meant to say supplement free weights during this lockdown...because....like it or not....anything is totally better than nothing....u can do pushups with a band round your back to keep extra resistance as you reach extension...helps redice ease in the strenge curve with that making it more difficult.....add rotation in your pushup at the end adds extra stretch and deflection....i would beag or beat anyone down for keeping at it in anyway shape or form....bands aee as good as its gets for replacing cable flys if thats all you got...ive got a right bunch of stuff...k/bells...rack,bench..barbell n weights..pullup var..dip bars...but i dint have dumbell...i just use k/bells when i wanna do anything id do with a dumbell....no one thing is be all and end all...they all have a place...bit yes during this crazy ass time with the world practically a ghost planet....ppl who are dedicated to making better choices for there health and life, may it be fitness, new foods...cutting out sugar n all that...u certainly dont need a gym to do this...be dedicated to yourself and set mini goals...enjoy yourself and learn as u go.. its all in the journey...#staysafe....and if possible....#stayathome

Next time your at the gym....hit the crossover/cable machine....take a bench with you....set it up for incline bench....the power curve of a cable will do wonders throughout the movement, plus you can crossover your hands and extend beyond your trunk and create a longer movement thatll squeeze the hell out of chest....change it up now n then is always good
