Best advise I ever got was when I'm having a hard day in work or at home is that no matter how hard it is
Remember it will end
One day at a time and never be embarrassed or afraid to ask for help
Take care |

I've been very down myself the last couple of weeks
There are days I feel very lonely (even though I'm here with my teenagers). I miss my daughter and grandbabies
I just keep telling myself that each day is another day closer to this all ending.
Just keep pushing forward, you're not alone in how you feel, and there's always someone willing to chat
I hope you feel better soon xx

Morning OP. Hope you’re feeling a bit better today. Cliched as it is, the only advice I can give is to try to get through one day at a time. Plan your day out and try not to leave too much thinking time. Practice a bit of self love - no, not that kind lol - eat well, exercise, listen to your fav album all the way through etc. When the despair comes, acknowledge it but let it wash over you. It will ebb and flow but you’ll still be standing Jessy x |

Everyone deals with their mental health in different ways. What works for one mightnt work for another...
I find music a great cure for them moments when the weight on my shoulders gets too heavy to carry.
As one contributor has said, listen to your favourite album or song.....
I’m a musician/singer/songwriter and I find picking up an instrument or sitting down at the piano therapeutic and mentally stimulating to the point that I have, at this moment, a song written about exactly what you’re going through.
It will be released on iTunes and Spotify when I get it recorded in the studio. I’ll keep you posted and hopefully it will help you and anyone else suffering any form of anxiety or depression.
Take care OP..... |

Thanks again everyone. There are some amazing people on this site and I want to thank everyone for getting me through a horrible situation. It is so reassuring that there are so many genuine people on here that one can call out for help to x |

if food =mood and music=mood tbe
ole frankie' will sort ya out awhile...not that 'ole frankie' the other old franky. "take a few zappa tunes from Shiek Yerbouti FLAKES wahahah plucked writhing and wriggling from any digital storage tube, plonk it on the earwaves." yesss humour does belong in music.
challenge that album not to get the mercurial mood barometer up a bit whilst chomping on a world beating sarnie.

Fire me a message OP or in fact anyone who wants a chat.
I'm massively demotivated this week. Can't get anywhere with my work, can't get focused with the kids and their homework, the house is upside down.
But tomorrow is a new day and next week is a new week!
Onwards and upwards!! |

Been there mate to an extremly low point which nearly ended very badly . exercise is very good i used to take a lot of aggersion out lifting weights . and music ... Yeah i love to sing ... But music stirs the soul . ... Pair of headphones and away ya go ... Start planing something ..research it.. Work towards it .. Have a goal . . but you simply gotta talk talk talk . tell people what your feeling .this is a big problem with men . they think its not manly to share their inner feelings . but im still here today because i was man enough to do it . im not ashamed of it . ill tell anyone my story so you wanna chat you have a lot of people here including myself on this very thread that will be delighted to talk to you .. ?? |

Hope you're alright man!
There's no attention seeking in asking for help, we all need someone to talk to now and then.
Hope this ends soon, it may be some weight of your shoulders.

"tricks to tame the tedium #4b"
make 'shit lists'.
lists, par dieu.
keep em short n sweet, realistic. dont move on to the next until you've got the first one finished. good ju ju. stuck stalled doldrummed hit'the wall' thats a dealing process, most will meet it but get outta that headspace quick as. focus to essential daily structured routines first and definitely throw in the odd treat to earn until the dynamo humms back to life . chat directly to ones in same situation see how theyre managing mood and resources. apart from that sure its all just shit and solidarity |

A few things I find helpful in times when you're feeling low, are watching comedies, don't watch the news..most of it is bad and it can stress you out or get you down. Try take a break from social media, practice self care, it was mentioned already..like a bath, read a book you love, music is always a good thing, maybe exercise..you might not be in the mood but it can help, yoga or meditation? Ring a friend if you can and say that you need to offload.
As some have said, just remember this too will pass go easy on yourself, you're doing the best you can, no matter how strong a person you are, you can't be strong every day. If you feel like crying, let it out. Dont bottle it up. Acknowledge that you're feeling low, it will get better.
