So guys, I've 6 tickets for Greenday and 4 for Guns & Roses. Both in June in RDS and Marley.

Any takers? Lol

Seriously, I haven't heard anything about refunds for either gig. Has anyone heard what's the story?

Ticketmaster are still selling tickets for these gigs, wtf??

Ticketmaster have asked the government to change the law on refunds

At this stage all of 2020 is gone ( EP won't go ahead ) and most gigs are put back till 2021

Ticketmaster would prefer that you hold those tickets till then but you can insist on refunds

See their website for details and google their refund page

They have now started to claim that refunds must be claimed within a certain time or you only get to go to the new dates but the law says you must get the refund

I think no company / airline / concert promotor wants to do refunds en masse as it will break them and essentially our money is an interest free working capital loan. Otherwise they will go under and none of us will see our money

Anyone got anything back from a travel insurance? Have a claim going but was so far refused under the premises that EU wide regulations have to be agreed in the face of corona crisis. F-ing ridiculous if you ask me, they always find a way of not paying. What's a travel insurance worth if you don't even get your money back in a crisis like this? Gangsters! Could do with the money as I won't have any income for the rest of the year.

The Govt won't force them to pay refunds cause it will lead to business Armageddon

i think refund is way more likely than a dead loss

dont give them away/sell, if refunds happen it will be a nightmare to sort out

i'm on the same boat for a few gigs

The bigger problem for some people is if they bought their tickets from touts to gigs that sold out straight away

They cant get money back from Ticketmaster but the tout will after selling on the tickets anyway

I think you should assume that nothing is going ahead

Concert promoters generally don’t hold ticket money -that’s the ticketing company. Ticketmaster don’t usually hand over ticket cash to promoters pre event.

I’m aware other ticketing co’s do hand over € pre event- a very very dangerous move especially when things go wrong. Like now!

Until there is a vaccine no government or Minister is going to licence any event over 5,000 even with total social distancing. Think Cheltenham and the ongoing negative PR it is still getting

Ah ok, I didn't know that. I understood the promotors got advanced payment from ticket sales to pay to set up the gigs and all other promotion costs ahead of the concert.

If ticket master have it sitting in an account then payout shouldn't be a problem.

I have tickets for Ozzy Osbourne for a gig he was to do over a year ago at 3 arena that has been postponed twice and probably will be 3 times.

That’s generally the way TM run their business. Problem is that they in turn are owned by Live Nation (biggest event promoters in the world) who are currently shut down worldwide. I wonder what cask reserves they are using to stay afloat!

My guess = TM!!

If you’ve booked it with your credit card launch a claim with them. The credit card company has bigger clout than us mere mortals.

Anyone who bought tickets can claim a full refund of the ticket price you don't have to accept the rearranged date or credit note same rules apply for purchase of airline tickets if you used a credit card you can claim from the card company

??????TICKETMASTER REFUNDS??????

Ticketmaster has outlined its policies on refunds for events which have been cancelled or rescheduled due to the coronavirus ????

??????????Approximately 500 events, including live music, comedy and festivals, have already been affected. This does not include events at venues which manage their own ticket sales.

??????Due to the high volume of events affected, Ticketmaster has asked people not to contact them directly but to log on to help.ticketmaster.ie to see the status of all events.

Currently, the following information applies:

?? For future events still scheduled to go ahead, customers don't need to do anything;

?? For events which have been cancelled, customers who bought their tickets online will be contacted directly with more information. For those who bought from a box office or outlet, they are advised to return to the point of purchase;

?? For events which will be rescheduled, Ticketmaster says it is "working with the event organiser" to identify new dates and will contact customers once information is available;

?? If consumers have tickets for an event that has been rescheduled but the new date does not suit, standard practice is for a refund to be issued.

?? Help.ticketmaster.ie

Dunboyne & Dublin

The Frames 30th Anniversary gig!

Gutted!

Glen Hansard 50th on Instagram was brilliant and Eddie Vedder dropping in was cool.

Still won't make up for this monumental gig though.

Possible opportunities to actually get tickets for it and Dermot Kennedy in 2021 though, if I survive
