I saw this somewhere else and thought I could definitely offer my advice here.
Any men thinking about this?
If so, feel free to pm me. I've had 2 in Ireland. I've also done the laser treatment (interrupted due to covid) and will do the pigmentation as soon as this is all over.
Short answer, not really worth it unless you're taking Finasteride (I refuse to) so I do everything else.
Btw my hair looks decent, no one can tell I've had any issues.

"What is finsteride i lost my hair a few yrs ago its slowly coming back but it is very thin and patchy plenty at the back but the top is patchy and you can see my scalp "
It's a medication which affects testosterone regulation, and thus can reverse hair loss in men. It's not recommended for women generally, male and female hair loss are different. |

"If it's for medical reasons with a woman I can understand but for a guy its sad. It's like the song, "I am so vain". Next, you will be getting botox "
I've also had laser eye surgery and invisalign braces. Botox, maybe but not yet.
You don't know my past and struggle with depression and serious weight issues as well as getting my food from charities so I'll take your ignorance with a pinch of salt. Now that I can afford to do these things, I'm fully entitled to, without judgement. I have no doubt my confidence levels are far greater than yours considering you think taking care of your mental health is "sad". I do feel sad that it's people like you that make other men feel ashamed of taking care if themselves and supporting the link between your views and male suicide levels. Fool. |

Wow what a mean thing to say. Men should encourage and support each other not knock each other down. |

"OP wouldnt get it done but always wondered does it hurt with all the needles going in and out of your scalp or is the whole thing numb
"
The numbing needle will stab you maybe 25 times but you only feel it maybe 4 or 5 times. Each hair is pulled out individually in a process that for me was 5 hrs. The device is like a syringe or hollow pen that goes in and pulls the hair from its root so you may hear a crunch sound.
First time can be worrying with all the blood second time was easy. Aftercare is 2 weeks with lots of scabs on your head which looks awful but end result is ok. Just not worth it overall as it's too expensive for what it does. |

When you get it done are you afraid to wash your hair and have a shower afterwards in case when
rubbing your scalp it falls out

You cant wash the top but the back and sides are ok after a few days. At first you're nervous but some will fall out, that's natural, but the majority stay. You get full guidance from whoever does it for you. |

"Do they transplant your own hair from the back? Are you not happy with the effect?
A guy I know gets some sort of a weave every couple of months. I don’t know the detail but it looks really good."
Yes, when you think of an older man, you'll notice that theres a 'U' shape at the back of a mans head with hair. They're the best to implant as you wont lose them, unfortunately your natural hair on top will continue to fall out you take Finasteride to slow it.
I'm happy enough but overall it's not worth the cost (in Ireland mainly) IMO. Your expectations (mine anyway) were far higher. |

How did you find the laser treatment?"
Well I did about 4 sessions (over 2 months) and covid happened. It's a 6 month thing but I feel like its slightly better, cant say for sure just yet as I only starting it. |

You are way off the mark linking my views to sucide, thats sad. I gave a personal view on hair transplants.I belive in being positve and that means being happy with what you look like and not changing it to suit what others think because you have hair or no hair.I fully accept your entilleded to your opions as I am but so is every one in a legitmate debate, because you dont agree you can agree to disagree without being petulent and acussing others of being ignorant.I wish you well with your recovery.Stay safe. |

You gave your personal view on me actually, the word "you" made that pretty clear, accompanied by insults and put downs, this post makes no sense when compared to your earlier post. You clearly can't take responsibility for your actions. Contradicting yourself isn't how you get out of it. Bye |
