To realise you might not be meeting anybody from here until 2021? Would you be pessimistic or hopefull something will happen in the summer with the virus?

It's pretty irrelevant in the overall scheme of things.

Irrelevant yes, meeting here is a small thing but people are longing for a small bit of normality, even if it's just a gradual lift in some areas.

I haven’t met anyone in ages so I’m not that upset.

I think most would just love a bit of normality in their normal day to day lives.

Waterford City

I can honestly see there being no big gatherings allowed for a few more months. But small one to one meets will happen sooner simply because people won’t stick to this strict lockdown for more than about 12 weeks. Lots are already breaking it.

They're gonna start punishment beatings in the North again for anyone out without a shopping list or on their way to work

No sweat, they're afraid to come over here anyway

I had read similar stories and the one thought I had was "Why don't they just stop tesco from selling non essential items then?" Would make a lot more sense and be a lot easier to enforce. I was in a boots store few weeks ago just when this was getting worse and they had cordons around most of the store so shoppers couldn't shop for non essential items(all the make up counters and stuff blocked off).
