Nice one Tim. The link between mental and physical wellbeing is so strong, and this is the perfect time to work on the physical and help the mental
J is really into fitness so I have to work out whether I like it or not |

-----------------
I train myself for two reasons...
- One is that when I train, I workout to a rhythm so exercise is my "meditation" Hard for some to grasp but that's my truth...
- The other is that many years ago I went through a very dark phase myself and the only thing that pulled me out of it was weight training
...so I can totally empathise with anyone out there feeling down and in need of some exercise or movement
On a lighter note...
There's way worse vices than exercise out there plus think of all the other juicy benefits when this thing passes
Be safe and stay strong |

Mmmmmmm juicy benifits, by god i am looking forward to that, fair play to you Tim. My motivation has definitely changed, i am tipping away at the gym program. My new work out currently consists of paint, brushs and rollers. Listening to older albums that are so old are skipping quite frequently. But look at least i am doing something, my head would melt down and have me in bed all day will owing. Mediation is great but like you say it's not for everyone, it took me some time to get used to it. Excercise has changed my life, it's a great way to keep sane. |

Just saw that calm (dot) com meditation and mindfulness resources are all free at the moment. Can't recommend mindfulness & meditation highly enough - especially helpful now during times of high stress |

I have found skipping to be great for the times when you can't get out for walks, stick on headphones find your rhythm.
Find it's great to get the brain and body reconnected when bog down in thoughts or low moods |

Skipping is such a simple exercise and handy once you have a rope & some space
I usually skip and hit the punch bag to some Tupac |

I'm going for long walks in the bog everyday, and my fitness has improved. I'm probably not eating as much, so I've probably lost some weight too. The walking helps me sleep better, and I find I'm waking up bright and refreshed early in the morning. This good weather and sunshine is great for my mood, too. I love sunshine. |

Great to see you have a means to control it. Keep fighting!"

Agreed...
Walking
Weights
Push Ups, Body Weight Squats & Jumping Jacks
Yoga mat/towel to do Sun Salutations
A Kettlebell to swing for 4 different exercises
Weights & Sprints for increased Growth hormone and testosterone in males (Go on da lads!)
----------
SO REALLY, any form of movement (within your capacity ...) is always a good idea as it boosts serotonin (happy hormone) & Endorphins (Feel good) levels
So, we need to kick mental health problems
in the ass by keeping active & eating well
as well as getting Professional help (when needed) & proper meds..
FIGHT THE HEALTHY FIGHT!!! |

"professional help in this country is woeful. give you a prescription and throw you out the door with a (maybe) follow up appointment in 6 months"
I must have been a lucky one then, I managed to get help fairly quick. |
