Just wondering those affected by cancelled flights in late March - have you got your refunds back off your airline or be third party if you booked through ?

No I'm due refunds from

Lufthansa and nothing yet

I actually expect to be offered a credit note voucher first as I believe thats what most airlines are trying to get away with.

I was reading an article i relation to the refunds. Airlines are issuing a cresit notes. They are also appealling to eu gov to change rules to allow them to do this.. what they hoping for is people will accept credit notes or voucher. But in reality they will refund once this crisis is over and only if customer persists in looking for a refund...

Refund for ferries does not apply as they still running the ferries

Ryanair are giving refunds but ask people to bear with them because of the volume of refunds they are having to process.

We shall see

I was only given a voucher. I rebooked for later on but expect to rebook again.

The fear with vouchers is that the airline might go bust.

Ryanair are apparently one of the only ones doing refunds. They are not obliged to offer refunds but can offer a credit note.So for once it seems Ryanair are taking a proactive approach to it all.

Applied to Aer Lingus for one and other than an acknowledgement email of the request nothing. It’s only €130 so in terms of the general scheme of what’s going on its not that important.

No you'll get your money back eventually but they'll offer a credit note first..insist on the full refund as by law they have to give it

but you cannot travel further than 2km from your house & many countries have border restrictions, so you cant really travel.

remember if you dont or cant fly, then they various taxes & charges collected over & a ove your seat charge should also be refunded...

as an inability to fly was not of your making you should get your cash refund

Why insist on getting a refund if a voucher will do to rebook when things get moving again?!? If you insist on a refund you’re contributing to the very high possibility that they go bust!

"Ryanair are apparently one of the only ones doing refunds. They are not obliged to offer refunds but can offer a credit note.So for once it seems Ryanair are taking a proactive approach to it all."

All airlines that are regulated by both the European and Irish aviation regulators MUST give a refund if you ask for one. RyanAir and Aer Lingus are offering to give people a voucher plus ten per cent if they wish to have one. You are under no obligations whatsoever to take it and you must ask them for the refund in writing either by registered post or by email giving a booking reference and name of the person who booked it and contact details and the details of the people you booked for, if any. RyanAir and Aer Lingus are going through the bookings day by day. So if you are travelling this week, they won’t be processing your booking till at least the end of June at the earliest. You must also remember that there is probably about two hundred people working in the airport at the moment between all staff and companies from the airlines to handling companies to DAA to search unit on any given day. After eight in the evening, your lucky if you see two people across the the two terminals. The place is like a ghost town. Staff are also either laid off or working week on and week off. The airport supported 17000 jobs up to last March. The government wrote a letter to the EU along with the heads of government asking for the law to be changed on refunds and the EU said NO. That’s the current situation at the moment and it’s the truth what I’ve written above. Flights will not return to normal capacity this year. Spain are not opening for ‘foreigners’ till at least August or September. The airlines will try and ride it out and give vouchers but under Irish and EU laws, you can ask and receive a cash refund. Loads seem to be experts on the matter. I’m telling you coz I’m on the coal face and the way things are, I’ll probably be laid off by September with a termination letter.

Lots of people who booked and now are asking for refunds have lost jobs and need that money back, they can’t use an airline’s voucher at the checkout in Lidl

In Ryanair’s case they absolutely soaking in cash because he is a smart operator but he’s ducking and diving as is his way to hang on to it for as long as possible

Due a refund from Ryanair. Was told it would be 28 working days. So I take that to be almost 6 weeks. Great value airline.Almost always the cheapest. One of the worst when you're owed money. And so hard to get in contact with.
