Hi all am just curious as the best way way to start a message. What is good to put as the subject. I’ve just bin putting hello but seems a bit lame. Any advice would be great.

The subject line doesn’t matter too much to us.

But the message needs to reflect that they’ve done more than just look at our pictures.

Although messages commenting on our pictures are nice too!

Write a paragraph not one word. Introduce yourself. Refer to the profile of the person you are writing to. Suggest how your profile indicates similar interests.

The key thing is that you want the lady to believe you are interested in meeting them, and not sending the same message to 50 other ladies.

Never included sex in a first message. That’s the quickest way for a delete in a lot of people’s eyes. You’ll still have to work chatting up etc as if this is the real world. Just do what you would do flirting with the pretty girl in the office at work. You wouldn’t steam roll in talking about sex

Best message I ever got was an insult, however it was obviously humorous in its delivery. Certainly got a reply just as discourteous back

but it did start a dialogue between us.

Being inventive and humorous will always be a treat when receiving a message

I actually messaged a couple for the first time tonight. I read the profile 3 times and rewrote the message about 5 times to make sure I got it right. Although my message was only two paragraphs I mentioned how fun and interesting they seemed. Also talked about our shared interests and personalities etc... They are currently offline but fingers crossed.

Read their profile - make sure you meet their criteria. Be sure in your mind that they actually appeal to you (i.e. not just because they are female and you are desperate to get your end away.)

Write a personalised message to that person. It still might end up “unread, deleted” but at least you tried and you won’t have sent another junk email to every female in your target area.

It doesn't bother me too much what is in the subject line because I always look at profiles first. I'm more likely to reply if they are localish to me whether I'm interested or not.

Great advice.

But some profiles are so limited in what they say. For example I think there should be a ban on "will fill in later" it's a lazy excuse. And means that the people with a decent profile just get bombarded with messages.
