What is the preferred way to let someone know that you are not interested?
I’ve a reasonably new profile, which I understand is attractive to some so I get a lot of messages. I’ve tried a polite ‘no thank you’ or similar and also just deleting without responding but I seem to be getting loads shitty, bent out of shape responses.
Am I doing this wrong? I seem to spend more time defending my position to people I’m not interested in than chatting to anyone I am.
Anyone got any tried and tested ways to avoid this kind of thing?

Delete without reply means no thank you (replying means they're outside any message filters you choose to apply in future). Bent out of shape means they're jerks who haven't read the rules and you should block them.
It can be tough going here, particularly in the fresh meat stage. Just delete if you're not interested, block (and possibly also report) anything nasty or abusive, and work out what works for you. Good luck. |

Mark it unread and then block. It winds them up a treat.
In all seriousness, being nice gets you nowhere. Block single guys and become the hunter, not the hunted. |

"There’s a strong chance I’m being far too polite. "
Yep. No need to be rude of course but if a polite no thanks is met with anything but a polite acceptance just delete. If they're abusive, report. |
