In general I prefer a man to at least have some stubble on his face, so the all women hate beards thing is a myth.

Like most things OP, some will like beards, some won't - regarding your "luck" though have you tried taking a look at the myriad of "can't get a meet"/"Profile Advice" threads on the forums? They might give you some pointers
